Great little cafe. The menu is limited but the food is excellent. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. If you like old fashioned decor you will love the Spring Mill Cafe.

Excellent restaurant, with non-traditional menu. Housed in an 1800s building, the decor is cozy and wonderful. I rented this for my mom's 60th birthday, and we had a very memorable experience.

Great place with great food. Great pate. My nephew thought the escargots were better than the ones he go tin France! I had the Veal, which was outstanding, and my girlfriend had the scallops, which are cooked to perfection. Service was good, leave room for desert!!
- Pros: food
- Cons: price
Tasty Overpriced Meal in Dining Room in Need of Housecleaning

If you adore small portions of VERY TASTY food that is HEAVILY OVERPRICED and served in a very dusty dining room, then you will enjoy your meal at the Spring Mill Cafe. Waiters are friendly and helpful, although few pay attention to sanitary serving practices (FOR EXAMPLE: we observed unclean fingers touching lips of water and wine glasses; same unwashed hands moved furniture and picked dropped objects off of floor then immediately handed us our food plates). The unisex bathrooms appeared cleaner than lampshades and other decorative areas including bookshelves in the main dining room. By the way, the small chair seats are very uncomfortable with cushions that are not tied to the chairs, so they move about.
- Pros: Food prepared well; Good menu choices
- Cons: Very overpriced; portions very small; Books on shelves were dusty; Lamps were dusty
French eclectic fare in a slow, country setting.

In Short
Like the kind of French country inn you'd find on a bicycling holiday in Provence, Spring Mill Cafe charms inside and out. Step over the threshold and you'll find a cozy flea-market finds, mismatched lamps and crockery, gingham tablecloths and art of wildly divergent quality which is hung the walls. The menu starts with French cuisine and hits more exotic locales. One can get a fine chicken liver pate and better-than-average creme caramel anytime here.
Save yourself the trip...

If you are expecting delicious, gourmet French food, get ready for disappointment. Having grown up in France, I can tell you that this is what I would call peasant food. The food selection was sparse and underwhelming in regards to diversity and flavor. The service was good and the ambiance is cute. However, this restaurant deserves none of the "hype" it gets.
- Pros: Ambiance, Service
- Cons: Food

We were slightly disappointed by the overall dining experience. The food was very good, and the wait staff was pleasant, but we felt like we had been whisked into a dark corner of the world. We could barely see our food, even with extra candles on the table. Also, we had requested a nice table when we made the reservation (and then called again to confirm the request for a nice table) since we were celebrating a special occasion. When we arrived, they offered us a table right next to the door or, alternatively, the dark corner previously mentioned. Someone should tell them that dark does not equal romantic. All in all, we had higher expectations, given the reviews and the price.
Great Setting

Went for Sunday brunch. Ate outside, on a nice day it is a great spot. Rabbit stew was flavorful, but had bones in it. Sea Scallops were very good, but there were only three. Had a slow, relaxing meal, no hesitation to leave a nice tip.
