Exceptional Service and Food

by foodstar

The decor of the restaurant is really wild - deep purple walls, beads, a hint of voodoo and a concrete alligator out front. We were lucky enough to score the window seats on a Saturday night. Reservations are a must for this restaurant.

The service was top notch. The service team was on top of everything and not intrusive. They really have a great group of employees - it was evident that they all enjoyed working there and it showed through the service.

The food was excellent. We started off the evening with the bisque of the day and the garlic butter artichokes. The bisque was excellent - great flavor and lots of seafood. The artichokes were very good, not overpowered with garlic, but very tasty.

For the entree, we had the barbequed salmon, which was a very interesting twist on salmon. It was quite good. We also had the Pecan Chicken with Shrimp Bourbon Orleans, which was excellent. This dish had an almost sweet cream sauce with it, quite excellent.

The dinner came with bread, which was very good. The butter was spiced up, with a spice that is very similar to Emeril's Essence. Very yummy.

It's a BYOB for wine.

I would recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent, service excellent and it was a lot of fun to be there. The restaurant has a great high energy vibe with it. This would be a great place to bring a group of fun people. And don't be worried about the food being too spicy - there are lots of options on the menu that include spicy creole items as well as many items without the fire.

  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: None that comes to mind

A wild mixture of cajun/creole food, an eclectic rock and roll atmosphere and the possibility of local and national musicians popping in at any time.

Just plain Fantastic!!!

by ejflyntz

It looks like a little hole in the wall, dark and foreboding inside, but don't let that fool you... it has some of the best food I've ever tasted. We keep going back, and haven't had a bad meal yet. The service is great and the eclectic mix of foods is unbeatable. Try the popcorn crayfish salad and don't forget the voodoo... The place is also a blast with a large group, but don't forget to bring the wine.

Amazing!!

High Street Cafe is the BEST restaurant i have ever been to and believe me, food is what i live for. Between the atmosphere and the ecletic dishes this place has you wanting more enough though you have already loosed your button on your pants. The dishes are great if you are a fan of canjun or not the mixture of spices are perfect. Aligator and ostrich apps and courses are absolutely fantastic! A great way to catch a taste is also to see them in the Annual West Chester Restaurant Festival in September. Keep up the GREAT work guys ;-)

sincerely,

a devoted fan!

Don't let the exterior fool you. This is one of, if not THE best BYOB I have been to. The atmosphere is romantic and fun. The food is phenominal. The service is impeccable. I will go back again and again.
