some people say that the service is horrible...I say that is he said she said. Why? Because some never explain their answer... The service isn't "horrible" because you may have to wait longer than some resturaunts...the only reason why the wait is longer is because people enjoy the resturaunt in general. Obviously if it is a well-liked resturaunt, It's not going to be dead. Yes, people may wait but take into consideration that the place is crowded, they don't have TONS of staff, they make fresh food that is very good and have reasonable prices...actually exceptionally reasonable prices and it's good Italian food and traditional,so why WOULD'NT people go there? That's why you may have to wait....but it is totally worth it.

This is not authentic Italian cuisine. I am an Italian girl and if they can;t do a simple red sauce right then I dont come back . It is all about the red sauce.

Cozy, perfect for early Sunday meals

My family and I drove down to Marra's before the Phillies game last night and were treated to exceptional service by Rosa, our waitress. She made us feel like we were back at my grandmother's house -- and the food matched her service! Family-oriented, familar, not stuffy and cozy! I can't wait to come back!

Good food, poor service

We have been coming to Marra's for about two years and until this summer I would have given it 5 stars. However, the last two times we went there, we had terrible service and below average food. Our waitress was almost invisible. We had to wait over 40 min. for our pizza and when she brought it out it was burnt. We had finished our waters and our wine, but she never came by to ask if wanted our glasses filled. When we were done eating we had to flag down another waiter to find our waitress so we could get our bill. This all on a fairly quiet weeknight.

NEVER AGAIN

BEING A NATIVE OF PHILLY AND A LOVER OF GREAT PIZZA, MARRAS SEEMED TO FIT THE BILL ACCORDING TO SOME PHILLY MAGAZINE REVIEWS...NOT SO ..OUR WAITRESS WAS RUDE, OUR PIZZAS WERE BURNT ON THE TOP, THE ESCAROLE SOUP WAS COLD-AND WITH NO MEATBALLS-WHAT GIVES? THE RESTAURANT WAS SOMEWHAT EMPTY SO THERE WAS NOT EXCUSE FOR THE IGNORANT SERVICE...NO MENTION FROM OUR WAITRESS ABOUT MORE DRINKS OR DESSERT...SHE DROPPED THE CHECK AT OUR TABLE WITHOUT A WORD AND WALKED AWAY.

SHAME ON YOU MARRAS...I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS, RELATIVES, AND BUSINESS CLIENTS TO STAY AWAY

Just awful

The place smelled funny. And it wasn't a food smell, which is always a little alarming in a restaurant. After waiting for a waiter to appear for 15 minutes, we left before we could even place an order. I can't really comment on the food, but if the kitchen is run anything like the front of the house, I'd bet it's pretty lousy.

once a regular and now its never

I USED to love going here, It reminded me of Family style Italian resturaunts like my family owns in upstate NY.

Huge portions, good food really cheap, consistant quaility, italian comfort food....

Last time we went with four friends, seated quickly 10 minutes on a friday night, our orders were taken promtly and read back to us. When the food arrived the waitress tossed it all on the table and abusively said " you figure it out" then ran off. Most of our order was not present, she didnt care, I reminded her that we ordered garlic bread with cheese but 20 minutes later I was sitting with a stone cold bowl of mussels and no bread! Everyones dish was not as desribed on the menu and sides/salads did not arrive.

No apology, no aknowledgement, NO TIP. never again

• Pros: comfort food in large portions
• Cons: Crappy waitstaff/ overworked busboys/ bad management

reasonable price, reasonable food

I loved their shrimp scampi, but all the other pastas, (we ordered a couple of them) tasted just about the same. Just about average. I would tell my college friends to go there just because they're cheap and the portions are big.

• Cons: can get really crowded and your waitress is nowhere to be found when it does.

Good pizza. Not good service

I have been to Marra?s a couple times for the pizza which is pretty good but I strongly suggest staying away from anything else on the menu. I ordered Chicken Parm which was not cooked at all totally raw on the inside. My husband ordered the Baked Ziti but instead received the Manicotti which was not very good, way too cheesey. I have to say the bus boys are the hardest workers in the whole restaurant they are on top of everything and pick up a lot of the waitresses slack because they are VERY slow. If you are going stick to the pizza!

Philadelphia does not have good pizza. Comming from Jersey, North Jersey, the pizza capital of the world, simply put--Philly pizza doesn't even come close------------except for Marra's. This is truly on par with and even better than some places in Jersey. This truly is a gem. Well worth it.
