Great falafel
by TimelessTraveller
I love Alyan's falafel and would eat it every single day if I could. Each time I go it seems like it gets better. The restaurant staff are always very nice and love talking to my boyfriend in Hebrew and Arabic when we go in. Never had a bad experience here.
- Pros: Delicious food, nice staff
- Cons: Small
Best textured hummus
by vgieo
I have never had a bad experience at Alyans. The mixed grill is incredible and impossible to dislike. If meat isn't in your diet, there are many other delicious entries's to choose from, such as the deelicious eggplant . I've never even seen a small portion at Alyan's and I am fond of the B.Y.O.B option. The Turkish coffee is great, especially after too much of your self-brought booze. I've been there quite a few times and I've always known their entries to be well seasoned, well garnished, satisfying and just plain delicious. The mood inside is very authentic, but not the authentic mainstream would consider it to be. Let me reemphasize that the hummus is absolutely amazing; if you think you like hummus you will know after you try Albans'.
- Pros: B.Y.O.B
- Cons: small
Alyan's Rocks
by userinnj
I read these reviews that bash Alyan's and say that it has been getting poorer and poorer. However, as someone who goes there to get their monthly supply of hummus, baba ghannouj, and other great middle eastern specialties, I must say that it is one of the best places around. Great food, speedy service, and while very small it has a wonderful ambience (request the garden room). Remember, BYOB.
- Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Great Ambience
- Cons: Nothing, at, all
Terrible Service, Tiny Portions
by tasneemp82
I have been to this restaurant four times in the past, and I have noticed that the quality has declined over the years. The last time I went, we had to go and find the waitress ourselves to place our order, because she had apparently forgotten about us. When she brought out our appetizers about half and hour later she forgot to bring straws AND plates, so we again had to go look for her. She first messed up our order, and then when the right dishes arrive they were pitifully tiny, more appetizer sized than entree. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore.
- Cons: terrible service, tiny portions, overcooked dishes
