Good coffee though. For starters we've waited for the menus for about 10 minutes, after we got them it took about 10-15 minutes to order and about 15 minutes for the order to come. People at next to ours table ordered even before we came and got their food at the same time that we did, so I assume that we got lucky. We ordered fritatats - no salt was present in the food, potatoes had a killer amount of very strong dry herbs on them and it made fritatas even more tasteless. Besides my fritata was dry and overcooked. Pancakes where overcooked on one side and very pale on the another. Actually they was supposed to be a plum pancakes, and I was thinking that they will be served with the plum compote on them or something like that, but they where just pancakes with the side of pretty tasty whipped cream with no hint of plums at all. I forgot to mention that our forks and knifes had traces of someone else's breakfast on them. I wish I didn't ignore all the negative reviews and went for our very first in Philadelphia breakfast somewhere else.

morning glory is freakin AMAZING and for those of you (reviews written below) who critize it and call it BLAH, that just makes you pretentious and spoiled. clearly anyone with any kind of culinary interest/respect would find this place near genius in thier creativity and overall taste of all of thier dishes. ive recommened this place to friends whom now sware they will never eat anyone elses pancakes ever again!!! im sorry, im just a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due, so those of you who choose to critize, take yourselves back to Mc Donalds and have a nice day. : ) the food is excellent here and the service is equally great. enjoy!

A big bowl O' wrong. Probably one of the worst dining experiences ever, and this was on a WEEKDAY morning too. Maybe its just me but for such a #1 rated restaurant you'd think the breakfast would be served hot considering they cook it 3 ft away from you and are sweating all over themselves; and therefore the hash browns would be crispy, pork bacon wouldn't be undercooked, over easy eggs would have firm egg whites rather than a runny gelatinous coating on them. And you'd think that as a PAYING CUSTOMER when any of your food is either cold, runny, soggy or ALL of the above and you ask for it to be fixed they would not cop a f*ing attitude and tell you "Well you ordered it wrong." How on earth can you take pride in yourself as a chef of a #1 restaurant AND STILL f*ck up eggs, bacon and hash browns, you specialize in breakfast for christsakes! As for the attitude well what do you expect from a bunch of holier than thou middleaged scenesters...anybody there who wasn't battling a hangover could tell you the truth...it JUST SUCKED!

Unless you have the privilege to be seated under a fan, which i did not, this restaurant is very hot! The food was OK, definitely not horrible but notthing to rave about. The service was fine but I was left unsatisfied and let down by the lack of flavor and creativity of their dishes. However, I have no big complaints about morning glory but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Pros: the name is cute.

Cons: the heat and the overall mediocracy

This place was great- the wait is long, but sooo worth it! My party of three brought 2 bottles of champagne on a Saturday at about noon, and we had the best time ever sitting at the counter. We ordered frittatas and the breakfast pizza, and we were very impressed. Large portions, small price, homemade REAL hot chocolate, orange juice to mix mimosas- it was great!! I want to go back immediately.

Pros: BYOB, Brunch, Price

Cons: long wait

Do yourself a favor and GO! If you've already been, go again. Without a doubt the best breakfast in Philly. Everything is fresh, well prepared and homemade. Their homemade ketchup is awesome and their frittatas are great, especially the smoked salmon, asparagus and goat cheese one, and their coffee is wonderful. Portions are huge...make sure you get the biscuit rather than toast (they're homemade and delightful). Completely casual and unpretentious with friendly service everytime. I've only ever been able to go on the weekends and there's always a wait (sometimes up to an hour), but definitely wait....it's so worth it. You can always put your name on the list and spend some time walking around. Also very reasonably priced (pretty much nothing over $10) for such good food.

Pros: Great homemade food, well priced and relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Can be a long wait on weekends, don't go when you're in a rush

get there early bc there will be a line...but the wait is worth the amazing selection...everything is freshly made, the muffins all the way to the omelets are to die for...try everything -- you wont be disappointed

I love the brunch here. The food is delicious. Cute diner stylings, but really delicious special food. About $10 a person and cash. There is typically a 20 minute wait, but if you are willing to do the counter, it can be faster. There is a waiting area where you can sit and chat with your brunch companions. MORNING GLORY - if you read this, allow people to order coffee while they wait - you'll never have a complaint about the wait again! All and all, great place for hipsters, your parents, etc.

Pros: Great food, ambiance

Cons: Waiting w/o coffee

Yes, if you don't want to wait on a Sunday morning for brunch, don't go to Morning Glory - don't go anywhere else either because in this city, a good brunch without a wait is unlikely - at least Morning Glory has seating outside! They have fans in the summer and heaters in the winter just to make it more comfortable, and for the guy complaining about no coffee - they do in fact have free coffee available inside - you just have to get it yourself, and yes, sometimes, especially later in the morning/early afternoon it is gone, but if you are NICE to them, I'm sure they wouldn't mind refilling the coffee urn or providing a cup of coffee for you. And if you hate the wait, do what I do, bring some friends, or even just a Sunday paper! I have loved Morning Glory since I was first introduced to it and regularly introduce new people to it and sometimes even go by myself! The chocolate chip pancakes are to die for, and even their scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuits are amazing! The staff is wonderful as long as you a polite and friendly and respect the fact that they are a busy and popular restuarant. The food is cheap and it is essentially a diner - don't expect someone to wait on you hand and foot - plus everyone is waiting! If you don't want to wait, leave, they have plenty of customers and for good reason. I hate nothing more than sitting in there and listening to some person loudly complain about the wait or the service - I have always been more than happy with the service, the staff, the atmosphere and the food, and in turn they always treat me with respect as well. If you don't want a casual, cheap, delicious brunch, you can't afford to pay for a $10 meal in cash, and you can't stand to wait, do everyone a favor and just don't go.

Pros: Breakfast - Especially the chocolate chip pancakes! Cheap but fantastic food and great character.

Cons: Yes, the wait is long - bring a paper or come really early or closer to 1 or 2.

We waited for a long time for a table for 5 on a Sunday morning, I can understand a long wait but maybe they should offer some coffee. When they sat us they put two tables together and tried to squeeze us in. I asked that they slide another table together so that we could be comfortable but the busboy said no. We insisted and he slammed the tables together and stormed off. When the waitress came by she wanted our drink order but became visibly iritated when I said that we were ready to order (we studied the menu while we were waiting). I'm sure she didn't want to slam the kitchen but you would think that since it was obvious that we didn't like them and they didn't like us they would be more than happy to get us out of there asap! The food was fine, not worth the wait, you can't even get a bloody mary!!

Pros: none that I can think of

Cons: Long wait for average food
