Not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!
by brutus
Drove in excited to taste the pizza that is supposed to highly rated. The waitress was rude and gave horrible service. If they don't know you as a regular they totally give you bad service and basically ignore you during your whole meal. The waitress had a rude attitude, she took our order and then never came back to check on us or offer us refills. She would talk to other customers who were regulars minutes at a time while we waited for service. Getting a box and our check was like asking for a million dollars. The pizza is overrated and we ordered two with each one cooked differently. I would never go back and would recommend that you don't waste your time if your thinking about going there.
- Pros: none
- Cons: Rude staff, bad service, inconsistent pizza
Great Pizza, the best! Bad seating...
by mbshaw297
I recently came to this restaurant for a birthday get together. What great pizza! The best pizza I have had in a LONG time. I highly recommend this place. One bit of advice - CALL BEFORE TO RESERVE YOUR DOUGH! The reservations were made a couple people short of our actual amount, and some people had to sit in the waiting area to eat. there was no extra room. We still had a wonderful time, and i will only eat pizza from here!
- Pros: great pizza great time
- Cons: seating is limited

- Pros: no pros
- Cons: everything
Decent Pizza, Rude and Arrogant staff
by endervr6
Tacconellis is very good pizza, BUT, and this is a big BUT, the pizza is not consistant, i have gone there at least 20 times the past few years and i can say i WILL Never return. the people who work there are flat out rude and arrogant, and sometimes my pizza is crispy, and sometimes its floppy either because they are so busy, or your pizza sits because the wattresses sit down and talk to eachother. last year i went on a mission to find the best pizza in the area, not just the city and this place clearly is not the best.
Although i love the pep and black olives, there is much better alternatives, i would rather take a 30 minute drive and get AMAZING PIZZA and be treated with respect from a place like delorenzos in trenton.
Also the sauce at tacconellis has been very acidic the past year, and not enjoyable, The pizza taste good, but that is usally after sitting for an hour waiting and having to deal with the rude staff
as a local you constantly have to deal with people from NYC and the suburbs as well, although i dont mind suburbans they seem to sit and chat all night, which doesnt help in a small place. Plus having to find your name on a list for dough gets annoying because usually your name is spelled wrong and your made to feel stupid, or at least i was.
If you dont want to drive far, go to tonys place in the northeast or vinces....they are both decent, but no pizza really has a bite like delorenzos in trenton....
Thats just my opinion though, but i dont see how tacconellis kept winning best of city when its clearly not.
- Pros: decent pizza
- Cons: long wait rude waitresses
Love It / There is No Other

My husband and I have been going to Tacconelli's for 6 years. Our third date together he took me there and family was joking around because of the reserve the dough policy. Jokes on them now, when my father saw Tacconelli's on the Food Network, he begged us to make the reservations that he needed to check it out. History has been made every since! My little sister and her husband are going with us tonight for their first time. Like my dad they are skeptical too of the reserve the dough this better be the best attitude. We will continue to come here even though we commute an hour to get there and sometimes have to wait but it is always worth it!
- Pros: Best Pizza Ever!
- Cons: Travel/ Parking
GOOD PIZZA NOT GREAT
by jafcot
It was a good pizza but not worth a drive from South Jesey. The "reserve your dough" policy is a gimmick to make you believe you can't live without tomato sauce on cooked dough. Ridiculous nonsense. Estimating dough needs at a successful pizza shop is not astro physics.
Definately over rated

I have tried a lot of pizzas, & I love pizza. What I can tell you is that this is nothing more than average. I was actually angry that I drove all that way & fussed with parking for such a mediocre pie. Dont believe the hype.
The Best Pizza In the Philly area by far! Great service always
by tdivi
Tacconelli's Pizza is an experience that should be had by all. Thin crust that is baked to perfection in the original oven of years ago is the perfect base to these pies. The pizza with cheese is tomato sauce with just enough cheese to lightly cover. The flavor of the sauce isn't hidden by anything and compliments the crust and it is "incredible" . The pizza with cheese and sausage was another combination that we couldn't keep on the pan long enough to cool off. Our last Masterpiece was the Cheese with pepperoni and the kids were done with that in minutes. The sauce here is the greatest and should be bottled for resale, athough recreating the crust would be impossible. We had 3 adults and 4 boys 8 -10 and we ate 4 pies no problem, next time we will get 5. Call in and order your dogh now!!
- Pros: pizza, service, location
- Cons: could use more seating
Pretty damn good
by seadawgscurvy
It was quite a hassle to get, given that you'll sometimes call and get a message saying that they are sold out. However, it was worth it. When judged objectively against other pizza places in the Philadelphia area, this one is the best.
- Pros: Taste
- Cons: You have to reserve your product way in advance. No delivery.
Best Pizza in Tri-State
by tm26
I've been going to TACH'S for a year now.....it is the BEST. I've never been a thin crust person until now. The flavor of the sauce, cheese and great crust is addictive. I know many love the spinach and tomato (which is very good) but I love the Sausage...my mouth is watering just writing about it. It is the best.
- Pros: Great Pizza
- Cons: Must Order dough in advance. Sometimes you have to wait to eat in.
