this place changed my life

by skinman

I tried 3000BC for my monthly facial on advice from friend. I was impressed by the clean and beautiful facility. Cool place, great vibe, friendly staff. What surprised me was the free expert complexion analysis - VISIA service. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable. I left the spa not only feeling renewed but the Visia report showed a lot of sun damage and so later on I saw my doctor and got some pre-cancer spots attended to... talk about excellent skincare!! WOW. I'll be back.

  • Pros: cutting edge skincare and excellent product line
  • Cons: pricy but worth it for this class of service

poor management

by spafan77

disgusted by the way clients are treated. are forced to buy products that are not needed. appears that all this spa is interested in is money, and not a relaxing environment for the client. when i go to a "high end" spa, i want the best, not the worst, which is what i experienced. upper management is juvenile at best, don't waste your money, don't waste your time. the so called "vp" of the spa, barry, is rude, crude, unprofessional....need i say more??

Finally Had Enough

by AmblerRambler

I've been going to 3000bc for many years. I'm finally done.

They no longer offer nail services, for one. I've found other spas with better prices and I never realized how rushed I was until I went elsewhere.

This spa is pretending to be high end. Don't waste your money there.

Waste of My Money

by PhillyGirl

I tried this spa for something new. I don't normally feel compelled to leave negative reviews after one experience, but this time I do.

The prices are incredibly high for the location and what you get. 50 minutes is not enough when nicer spas in center city charge less for a full hour and you're not rushed. In the waiting room, the guests are bombarded with videos trying to convince you to get expensive services.

My massage was rushed and what was worse...my therapist reeked of alcohol and seemed possibly high as well! This was awful. I was too embarassed to bring it up at the time. I left feeling really disgusting.

Also, the lack of soundproofing is a real problem. I could go on and on.

Don't waste your money at this shameful excuse for a luxury experience!

Outstanding Experience

by familypractice

I have been to high end spas throughout the country and have found 3000BC to be the best. I am in the medical profession and lead a very busy and stressful life. Upon entering 3000BC I found the staff to be very helpfull. The therapists are the best anywhere in the country. I have had facials, many different types of massage treatments and have found each treatment to be of the highest quality. The spas are both beautiful and VERY relaxing. I have never been able to find a spa experience that comes even close to the one at 3000BC!

  • Pros: Best Spa Experience
  • Cons: Not located in my home town

Awesome Spa Services & Friendly Staff

by SophisticatedLADY

I have been to 3000BC several times since the middle of 2008, and I have always been completely satisfied with the overall experience. The front desk staff continually provides personal and friendly service, as well as information on the advanced skin care services and products. I have traveled to many destination spas and this facility offers the finest holistic and medical based skin care treatments and massage services. I am really pleased to hear that 3000BC is now affiliated with one of the leading regional plastic surgeons in the midatlantic states. The spa is clean and the staff is friendly. I would recommend 3000BC to all my friends and family.

  • Pros: professional and advanced skincare services, great massages
  • Cons: sometimes difficult to get appointment at my desired time

Good massage; terrible service

by dbatchelor

You go to a spa for a relaxing experience. On my first visit no one was available to greet me at reception. On my 2nd attempt for an appointment, my guest had a gift card that went beyond the expiration date (due to family illness issues). They would not honor it because "they didn't have to" and the manager stated "I don't have to tell you why". The owner didn't care to respond.

Needless to say, I took my business to another spa that was less costly, just as nice and welcomed and appreciated their customers.

Thumbs Down on 3000 Bc

  • Pros: Nice facility
  • Cons: Management is NOT customer oriented

Great Friendly Therapists

by SpaFan

I have been going to this spa for some time now. I absolutely love getting massage, and have found therapists there that I really trust. The decor of the spa is beautiful and I love the tea that they brew while you are waiting.

While I don't get into a spa as often as I should, this is the place that I come to regularly and consider "my spa." The therapists and front desk staff are always very down to earth, make me feel completely at ease and are good at what they do. I have had great waxings, facials and massages.

I'm not sure how to place my one complaint; so here goes:

There is a very high turnover rate of therapists at this spa. Having worked in the industry for a number of years back in the day before becoming a mom, I can only assume this speaks to the management...(?)

What keeps a client coming back is the relationship that they develop with a therapist that they know and trust. I just hope that more spa directors realize this so that I can trust the therapists that I know will give me good service will still be there when I get back!

So In Short:

Definitely worth every penny. A very great atmosphere and I am always pleased! Go there, you won't be disappointed!

  • Pros: Therapists that I trust
  • Cons: High Turnover Rate

Tried Twice - Twice Disappointed

by mikestevens2

Was surprised at how bad my massage was and really surprised at how much it cost. Unfortunately, it was not relaxing either. The spa pedicure was not thorough at all either. Definitely saw a trend and will not go back

  • Pros: close by
  • Cons: low quality service

The Absolute Best Spa Experience

by McMathes

I had given up on things like facials. I found the spas a little too self-aware and the staff kind of vacuous. Not to mention the insane pricing. And waxing? It has to be done, but I was rarely ever happy with how artificial my eyebrows looked. Spa3000, in Chestnut Hill, changed my mind. More specifically, Kate Brown there did. The place is beautiful without being intimidating. The staff is fantastic! Warmer and more human than a lot of the robots usually employed from the reception desk to your skin care specialists, and quick to tell you if the services you are getting can be packaged in a way to make it more economical. In this day, particularly, that is very much appreciated. Kate is a dream, and when I walk out I look great and feel great, and my eyebrows look neither like caterpillars nor Barbie draw-ons. The complimentary and wonderful teas, the great nail services, it's all makes for a truly great experience.

  • Pros: Great staff, excellent services, serene but not snobby environment
  • Cons: none
