Extra Special

I have never stayed in a small hotel that had so many amenities! The reasonable rates include a free continental breakfast, wifi, several movie chanels. They even have an arrangement with a nearby parking facility ($10.00 for 24 hours). The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
An excellent option for those seeking a homey atmosphere with plenty of indulgent extras.

The Scene
Although it opened in 1998, this hotel was designed to reflect 1930s modern deco--you may feel as if you've traveled back in time to a cruise ship in the early 20th century. Its convenient location among Philadelphia's downtown attractions makes it popular with tourists who want to avoid the generic hotel scene and don't feel like spending half their holiday in the car, driving to or from the next attraction.
The Details
Guest rooms are equipped with all the basics, such as air-conditioning, DirecTV, WiFi, in-room safes and private baths. The artwork reflects the hotel's overall art-deco atmosphere. The inn offers the best of big hotel living and B&B intimacy, with a fitness center that is always open and a deluxe, homemade breakfast buffet included in your stay.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

I was pleasently surprised with how nice the hotel was. My room was very cozy and the bed was heavenly. A well rounded breakfast in the morning, and a smiling staff was a great way to start my day. I tell all my friends about this great hotel which is centrally located to everything that I wanted to see.

I spend a lot of leisure time in Philadelphia, and my recent weekend at the Alexander was the most relaxed and laid-back I have ever experienced. Inobtrusive soft jazz music, a very comfortable sitting area with an impressive continental breakfast, a stocked fitness center, internet access, and lovely deco furnishings serve to make this inn my new favorite. It's definitely worth the trip.
- Pros: comfort, location, quiet
- Cons: parking
