Good pints, good atmosphere, good jukebox, no TV--the perfect pub.
by Contributor
In Short
Sure, you can see celebrated local-celeb Fergie riding around town in his drop-top Jeep, but why not see the tussled-locked one up close at his eponymous pub? Upstairs, find bands and a popular weekly Quizzo game. The ground-floor serves as meeting place central for folks of all walks. Clientele here runs the gamut, from art-school kids to urban businessmen and mad barflies.
can't really tell

My friends and I tried to get a pint or two. We were told to sit anywhere but weren't allowed to sit at the only two tables available. The girl working there wasn't friendly. It was shame, I heard so much about the place and didn't get the chance to try it out. Definitely won't recommend the place.
- Pros: word of mouth said this was a good place to hang out.
- Cons: bad attitude from staff, didn't accomodate 6 guys who were willing to spend some money
Out of the way pub for the masses

I'm a big fan of fergie's, as such I've written a haiku about my love
"the pub of fergie/
beer and food and i love beer/
philadelphia"
it's a great place for drinks after work, or particularly for rittenhous folks looking to spread a little westward without hitting old city.
- Pros: nice folks, good beers
- Cons: my date wouldn't stop talking
Good food for not much money if you're going to the theater.

My wife and I were looking for a place to have something to eat before going to the theater. We didn't have much money so Walnut St near the theater was out. I happened to get an on street parking spot on Samson St across from Fergie's Pub so we tried it and we were not disappointed. NO TV!!! You can hear yourself talk. The music they were playing was great. The food was very good and the waitress was very personable and friendly. We will definitely return there if we go to the theater again. Highly recommended!!!
- Pros: NO TV, good food for not much money
- Cons: Small, not many tables

Try the Mussels
by nitab
We stopped in quick just for a drink to let rush hour pass. We had excellent drinks, great service, and the mussels.... I do not even know how to explain them. They were so tender and the taste was unbelievable. Great old fashion pub. No TV's!! So you can actually hang out and Blarney!!!!
- Pros: Food, Drinks , Atmosphere
No TV!

This place has no TV! Amazing!! Here I can really enjoy my beer, truly madly deeply. The bar is oak.
Fergie's is Heaven.

Okay, the food is fried, the bartender is chatty, and they don't serve Michelob Ultra, so please don't ask. They DO, however, have Guinness and, my new favorite, Smithwick's. Yum. It can be smokey, which is just fine, and the service can be slow (they usually just have one waitress on a relatively big floor). But so what? Why would you be in a hurry to leave?
- Pros: true Irish pub, comfortable
casual night out

fergies is such a diamond in the rough that I am not sure if I want to rate it so well - then the secret will be out. I cannot remember the last time I went to a bar while I was on a business trip and felt so relaxed that wished I lived nearby so that this could become my regular watering hole. The crowd in pleasantly unpretentious, and my beer and drinks were served to me by a cutie named Ana who took my stupid jokes in stride. I will definitely recommend this place to friends
"very friendly & comfortable"

I found Fergies to be extremely friendly and cozy. The bartender Casey was hilarious. Not having a t.v. seemed to make all the people at the bar talk to each other. We went in on a Saturday afternoon, had pints of Youngs and Guinness, ate some delicious burgers and listened to live Irish music. Perfect
- Pros: Really friendly, no t.v., great burgers
- Cons: had to park far away
