Always excited to see an active, vibrant AA Museum. It's exhibits and programs are a great example for other AA museums.
- Pros: community arts programs
The country's first major museum devoted specifically to African-American history and traditions.

In Short
With over 400,000 objects, the African American Museum consists of four galleries used for exhibitions and presentations. The museum's Fine Arts section includes prints, paintings, and a glorious tapestry entitled "Captivity and Renaissance" by Romare Bearden, a Harlem renaissance artist who studied in Paris and reinterpreted ancient myths and rituals in his work.
