i found strands through city search and took a leap of faith based on the reviews...and boy am i glad! vince was awesome and everyone there was so nice. i will definitely be back.

LOVE IT SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

I read about Strand on this website and didn't know what to expect. Most of the reviews were good some were not.I had the pleasure of Laura styling my hair. I can't tell you the wonderful work she did. The owner is not only friendly but made me feel like family. This salon is a keeper!!

great place for an amazing cut and color

i will say this i am new to the area, i am from bala, and i was checkin places out, and every time i would walk by this place if someone was out side they said hello, i must say that made up my mind i had to go in this little salon and chesk things out, well i couldnt be happier, i had my 1st old city cut and color with JENN , i must say she made me look hip, fresh and feeling great about myself!!! my color is perfect with my new hair cut, i couldnt be so happy!!!! i hope everyone finds out about her, well not too many, i still need to get in with this amazing artist!!!!, THANK YOU JENN

Laura Is The Best.

The new stylist, Laura gave me the best haircut i have had in years. I recommend her to anyone that wants their hair to look amazing. My wife also got her hair colored by her, and it did wonders for our love making.

jenn rocks!!

i am a long time cleint of jenn's and found her at STRANDS, i will say at first i was a bit disappointed about her move , to OLD CITY, but i must say i had such a wonderful time at her new home everyone there is so friendly and welcoming i felt like i fit right in, unlike her old salon that was not so friendly, althought i was also nervous that the color line is different but she is an AMAZING COLORIST and worked her magic my hair has never looked so good, she is worth the travel! what the best part was that the price is right, low cost and you end up leaving looking like a star, and now in this time costs counts

Vince is a genius! I have been going to him for 3 years now. A friend of mine recommended him to me and I was skeptical at first. What did my friend know? My hair would tire anyone out, so much of it and with a mind of its own. But she insisted and I followed. Let me tell you. I have not regretted it one bit. He knows how to cut hair. Hands down the best in town. He made the mass of hair I had have movement and life. He spends so much time cutting, crafting layers and life into my hair. I have moved out of Philly and still travel back up to get his hair cuts. They last such a long time and he is conscious of that too. I cannot say enough about him. Everyone I have recommended to go has said the same. The salon is always bustling and hopping so be prepared to fold into the crowd.

• Pros: Talented staff, great atmosphere, great location, resonable prices
• Cons: Looking for parking if you are short on time.

JOY IS THE NASTIEST PERSON EVER! STRANDS SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO EMPLOY JOY.

PLEASE -- AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COST -- MOST IMPORTANT - Do NOT have ANY services done by JOY! She is one of the nastiest, most unprofessional, miserable, and downright meanest people I have ever encountered in my life.

I have a wedding coming up in a couple of days and wanted to get my hair highlighted. I scheduled an appointment almost a week in advance with JOY. I left work an hour and a half early so that I could have my hair highlighted. Took a cab to make sure that I was on time (trying to be considerate to someone who is so INCONSIDERATE). Once I arrived at Strands she told me, in her usual condescending tone, that she WOULD NOT highlight my hair the way I wanted her to and that I would only be unsatisfied with it, and that there was nothing she could do for me. She just kept shaking her head saying, "no, I WON'T highlight your hair". Then she walked away from me. What a coward! Joy OBVIOUSLY only PROVED that she does NOT have any TALENT/SKILL if she can't highlight someone's hair to their liking. Joy basically thinks your hair should be a certain way (her way) before she highlights your hair, which is a little too late once you show up at the salon only to find out that she WON'T do your hair.

I find it hard to believe that she has any clients left at all due to the rude treatment they receive from JOY. No wonder Joy only works part-time - not enough customers.

Joy's rude behavior is an absolute disgrace. I am sure that the owner witnesses Joy's ongoing unprofessional and rude behavior and doesn't do a thing about it.

My thoughts to the owner: SHAME ON YOU.

Toppers Salon sure knew what they were getting rid of when Joy left their salon.

Nobody deserves to be treated so rudely. The stylists at the Haircutter have better people/highlighting/cutting skills than Joy.

She is certainly not a joy at all.

friendly/good service

it was my 1st time @ STRANDS this weekend, i must say i will be going back , i had an amazing haircut and the people there were so nice, gave me so much info about hair cuts and color i felt like i was rolalty!!!!!! and i love the fashion that they have to wear there, ih they are just great

Just ok

This was my first time at Strands. I thought the salon was ok but just not worth the price. I didn't like my hair cut that much and thought the service wasn't that good. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's looking for "professional" results.

i was referred to strands from a friend and i have to say im so glad that i listen to her, i have never loved my hair as much as i do now, kevin is a magic worker! i am so happy to have found him
