I bought my wife's engagment ring at Barsky after searching Jeweler's Row for weeks. I had been looking in the window when Mr. Barsky happened to arrive to the store and stopped to say hello. After asking me a few questions, he invited me in to have a look at a few things. I figured he was going to try to make a sale, and wasn't too anxious to follow him, but I was surprised at how much time he gave me, and how committed he was to finding the exact ring I wanted. He was so helpful and professional, and he worked with me on price so much that I was thrilled with the ring. Money was never an issue. I told him my price range (which wasn't very high) and he worked with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted for my money. And my wife loved it. She still loves it. When we needed to get wedding bands, Barsky was our first stop. Now let me say, I didn't spend $20,000 on the engagement ring, so I didn't think he'd remember me. He did. He again treated me with gentle respect and went out of his way to make sure I got what we wanted. I had a destination wedding quickly approaching, and there wasn't enough time to have exactly what I wanted made. He didn't try to talk me into to something he had at the store. Instead, he gave me a loaner. He actually gave me a diamond-studded wedding band, that he altered with filagree to match the ring I ordered, on loan until the ring I wanted could be made. I have never experienced this kind of customer service. The craftsmanship of all of the rings are amazing, and everyone makes mention of their uniqueness and antique look. I can't say enough about how well I was treated by, and how far my money went in working with Mr. Barsky and his friendly, professional staff. Getting engaged and married were serious decisions for me and the pressures they being were eased greatly by the treatment and respect I received. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Pros: Customer service, prices, respectful environment
Cons: Parking in the area hard to find

My husband bought my engagement ring there and the service was great. They were very nice and did not discriminate against the fact that we were on a tight budget. We also bought our wedding bands there. Everything was ready on time and looked perfect. Whenever I am in the area I stop in and they clean my rings for free while I wait. I would definitely reccommend Barsky Jewelers. We shopped around quite a bit, but we were not able to find a better deal.

I visited Barsky today and was treated in a condescending manner once I revealed I was looking to spend *only* $5,000. I thought this funny since the salesman was wearing an ill-fitting suit with black sneakers. Yes, sneakers. This salesman was also extremely pushy, resulting in an unprofessional manner. Also, it's terrific that the store has been around for 106 years, but I don't need to have it shoved down my throat. When a salesman walked me over to meet the "grandfather," the grandfather merely shook his head no. I've visited six jewelry stores so far in search of an engagement ring, and this was my worst experience.

I walked along jeweler's row and looked in windows shopping for an Engagement Ring. I was taken inside and introduced to one of their buyers. He couldn't have made the process any easier. I wanted the PERFECT ring because I only want to do this once, and he took the time to make sure I was happy. I must have looked at 20 different bands, not to mention the loose diamonds he showed me that were exactly what I wanted. Mr. Barsky, himself, even came over and talked to me while I was waiting on paperwork to finish up. They even set my one of a kind ring that day, complete with our initials engraved!! A stressless experience, and I couldn't be happier with the final product.
Pros: Good selection, friendly people, lots of knowledge
Cons: Gets very busy on the weekends

The sales people are not on commission at Barsky's and it makes for a wonderful buying experience. My sales rep, Alicia, was extremely kind and spent a lot of time offering suggestions and helping me design a custom ring that fit within my budget. There were no high pressure sales tactics and, when I decided that I wanted to go shop around a little, she politely wrote down the numbers and prices of the two rings I liked and sent me on my way. I found the prices at Barsky's to be extremely reasonable compared to the other stores on Jewelers row, especially since you they offer unique, custom peices and free engraving. I would go back in a minute.
Pros: Great Service, Great Value

spent almost 5 grand on a ring there. asked for shipping to be included, no dice so i paid the lousy 40 bucks. arrived in poor shape - had edging put on it. totally uneven, not uniform around the ring. it was only shipped registered or certified, not insured as i asked. if registered or certified, USPS only insures $1000. in addition the usps labels have the actual price paid to ship, mine was $16. so for a 5k ring, they tried to beat me for 24 bucks. will never return. ps- my great aunt bought her ring there 50 years ago...but probably didn't get that treatment
Pros: fair selection
Cons: shifty, uncooperative
