Good music, games, and cheap beer
by kdub1281
Tried this place on a whim while out in Old City and I loved it. The jukebox had some good tunes, they had some old school arcade games, and $1 16oz. PBRs from 7-11. A great place to go to just chill out and have some fun. The men's bathroom is also covered with pictures of Playboy and Penthouse girls, which is always a nice touch.
- Pros: Cheap drinks, arcade games
- Cons: You have to walk upstairs to go to the bathroom (not really too much of a con)

the only bar i don't really hate going to, even though it's in old city. good specials, cheap drinks and food and it's fun.
- Pros: dark, cheap, chill
- Cons: parking, hard to find
Funky underground bar with cheap drinks and chill mixed crowd
by smalltownguy1
If you are looking to see and be seen, don't show up here, but if you want to hang out, play some tunes on the jukebox, and have a few strong drinks, this is the place for you. Loved the theme of play: pinball, carnival rides, etc. Friendly doorman and bartenders. Cheap drinks (e.g. $4 G & T).
- Pros: Chill crowd. Great service and value. Funky decor.
- Cons: Lack of rap stars and media moguls (just kidding)
Dark, basement bar offers good beer, good food and subterranean delights.

In Short
Tucked into what would naturally be an apartment building's washroom, Sugar Mom's gives you plenty of places to steal away to. Dark lighting, low ceilings and multiple brick columns lend a dungeon-like feel to the club, but wanderers through these catacombs will be pleased to find juvenile treats awaiting them. Cheap, fun plastic toys are scattered throughout, as are pinball machines, a foosball table, old bumper cars and billiards.
Huh?

Maybe I just don't get it, but I got rude service here and the food was typical bar food straight from the freezer to the fryer.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Kinda Funky
- Cons: , Rude Servers
Great Hang out

Spent a few hours here during a recent bachelor party. This place rocks, great beers at great prices. The bathroom is upstairs, which makes a hard trip once you have knocked a few down, but it rewards you with tons of naked women all over the walls.
- Pros: Prices, Selection, Juke box
- Cons: Up stairs bathroom
Tasty and cheap
by parksie923
For all the snobby, overpriced bar/restaurants in our city, there has to be a few cheap and tasty ones! Thank God we have Sugar Moms. I love this place! I go on Thursdays, where pitchers of Yuengling are a mere $4.00 and a burger is under $6.00. It is a refreshing change to the hoity-toity (I love that phrase) places that don't live up to their reputation!
throwback alley dive w/ contemp appeal

this place is well-hidden in center city (olde I think) it's a glorified cellar w/ all the charm of an 1800's pub and a cotemporary, mixed crowd. if the rest of olde city is to dressy and airy for you my suggestion is to head down to sugar mom's.
- Pros: enviroment, food, selection
- Cons: weekend crowd, staff
