El Azteca II is a refreshing experience compared to some of the stuffier BYOB (do not forget the tequila) restaurants in Philadelphia. The atmosphere is young and fun with a crowd ranging from families celebrating birthdays (the birthday boy or girl gets a sombrero and a sparkler in their dessert) to college students downing pitchers of margaritas made with the best sour mix in Philadelphia. The service is efficient, friendly and they never stop bringing the corn chips and salsa. The menu consists of authentic Mexican cuisines that are reasonably priced for their tastiness and large portions. It is a fantastic place to start your night. Only four blocks away from Old City you can walk there and still have your buzz. So if you are looking for a good time with great food and drinks El Azteca II is the only place to go.
Pros: great food, margaritas, and atmosphere
Cons: so far away from my apartment!!
