RE: POOJONES13 and his negative response. I have been a customer of Lore's Chocolate Spot for over 25 years. Everyone knows, you place your order at the counter.....you don't stand over a piece of chocolate, waiting for someone to come to you. Every time I come in the door and up the steps....The customer service is wonderful. They always remember me as one of the girls from TWA. Every year when I place my IRISH POTATO order, even if it's over the phone....they remember me, and are always friendly. I also noticed that Mr. POOJONES13 likes to write negative feedback anywhere he and his domestic partner go. Look POO, life is too short. Don't sweat the small stuff. Also, if you don't have anything nice to say...don't say anything at all. Enjoy your Almond Bark Poo. and next time just bring it to the managers attention. God Bless! Acqua D. PS. Could become habit-forming. Separate tables for dark and milk; you can select up to 4 varieties for a 1-lb box. My faves: dark chocolate coconut clusters & dark chocolate pecan clusters. MMMMMMmmmmmm......

I have had chocolates from this store many times as my domestic partner likes their Almond Bark which I also find delicious. They also have good Irish Potatoes. On at least three occasions I have gone in to the store to buy chocolates and was continually ignored by each and every staff member. This is a very tiny store and gets full quickly. There is no system in place to see that customers are served. After standing at both of the two candy counters for at least five minutes each with no eye contact, verbal uttering or the slightest notice from any staff member, I felt I had no choice but to leave. I thought that yelling would have gotten their attention but that is not my style. As I said this was not the first but the third time this has happened to me at this shop. I vow to never patronize any business that has poor customer service. I'm not sure if it was personal or just the daily routine of these people. This said, I will never darken the doorstep of Lore's again. There are many friendly chocolate shops in this city that have finer chocolates. Try the best hand-made chocolates ever in Chestnut Hill at Jubilee Chocolates, 161 W. Wyoming Avenue, 19140. They are also available online and were featured on the cover of Gourmet Magazine.

I got a free sample at my work one day, apparently Lore's was hading out free promotional samples. They have got to be some of the best American made chocolate I have ever had. I am planning on ordering from them for my wedding reception this summer. If you in the Center City area give them a shot, you wil be totally happy that you did.
Pros: Located in Center City
Cons: No easy parking
