The Please Touch Museum has gone world-class with a move to Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park.

by Tara Nurin

In Short
After years of negotiation, Please Touch Museum has found a home that allows it to mount more than half a dozen life-size themed exhibit zones like "Roadside Attractions" and "City Capers" that teach kids of all ages about the world around them in a playful, hands-on way. The experience is enhanced with accompanying reading materials, a theater for riginal kid-friendly performances and a museum collection of 12,000 toys built after 1945.

Rude Management and biased staff

by Chinesedragon

WHYY (channel 12) staff were there and they were nicer to the white customers. The Please Touch Museum staff was rude and did not seem interested in assisting me at all, however was very nice and enthusiastic to the white customers. I will never go back. My child was not happy and felt as though we were treated differently and does not want to go back. We are African American. We left and went over to the Franklin Institute and had a great time. They need to train thier staff on being equally friendly to eveyone that brings their children and if they are going to invite WHYY to be there, they need to request friendly non-biased staff. It's not worth the trip.

  • Cons: Rude Management, rude staff, biased guest

Overpriced and small

by operasara

After attending the childrens museum in Denver I was excited to take my toddler to another childrens museum. After forking out thirty dollars for the three of us I was dissapointed to see how small the museum was. We looked at and played with everything and only spent two hours there. It's full of exhibits that can be played with, but not learning activities like I've seen at other museums. My daughter had more fun walking up and down the ramp leading to the museum than playing with or looking at anything in the museum.

  • Pros: Child Centered
  • Cons: Small, Expensive

Not worth the trip

by joanmanuel

After ten minutes of being there, you have seen it all and played with it all. It is deffinitly not worth the money or agravation of the parking lot they recommend on their web site. The "exibits" are poor and some frighting. Especially the elephant that had naked doll parts with nails through it. For four dollars more go to the Ben Franklin institute across the street where their are plenty of interactive and educational exibits for the entire family. Have the entire day set aside for fun.

Children's Place

I think this is an excellent place for children. My son really enjoyed himself. Kids get to touch everything which is always good for them!

  • Cons: need more attractions

best ever

I can remember going to this museum as a kid and it was the single-greatest thing EVER. It really deserves to be ranked higher, although I guess I shouldn't talk before I've been to the other museums. In any rate this is a great museum and I'm ecstatic that it made this list.
