worst hair ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My experiance was the worst nightmare yet.. To start this jacka@# greets me with a bright red polyester shirt unbuttoned down to his navel ,with long grey and black fur on display for the unfortunate world. The bright blue pants he wore were so tight ,thank god he didnt have much to strut in that department. . His face was dry and wrinkled and in need of moisture, He was a cross between the love child of Gene Simons and King Friday . His hair was from a 80s metal hair band [ too old to rock and roll! ]He spoke to me as though he was a god in his own mind ,pretentious and obnoxious was the attitude from the get go. He was twenty five minutes late

to start . He said the best you must wait for[ dont make me sick!] He claimed his talent and professed that all the citys hairdressers stunk and he was the only one who could cut hair. It took three hours of ranting and drunk rambling on and on about nothing. He smelled of booze and cheap cologne. He had more cheap jewlery on i thought he was the brother of Mr. T .The hair cut was the worst mess i have ever seen,so uneven .I had to ask what was with this ,his response all art has flaws. I just looked at him and could not believe what a crock of - - - - he was. Run from him , The fact he is the only one who works in the salon tells us all that he is the only person who could stand being around him is himself..

• Pros: GREAT IF YOU NEED A GOOD LAUGH!
• Cons:  HE IS A HUGE FOOL AND CON

An amazing experience

I have always had trouble with my curly hair and have spent years trying to make it straight. I heard about Signacurl through a friend and figured if I was going to ever embrace my natural curls - now was the time.

Not only am I thrilled with the results, but this is the first time I have ever really felt good about curls. I am so happy and cannot wait to go back for my next visit.

Joseph was amazing. He is so clearly talented that I trusted him right from the start. He made me feel so good about my hair and has begun the process of teaching me how to get a handle on it. I enjoyed every minute with him and cannot wait to return.

curls keep getting better

I have been seeing Joseph for help with my curls for almost three years. When I moved to Philadelphia, he had some blunt things to say about how my former stylist in another state had been bleaching and killing my hair. It has been a painstaking process to finally grow out the bleach and allow my curls to recover - but Joseph told me to have patience, and I am glad that I kept returning. Most recently he relaxed the tightest curls at the nape of my neck and it made a huge difference in allowing the curls to fall gracefully and I love the subtle changes. When Joseph does my color and style, I have always come away pleased with the outcome. I definitely have received a lot of compliments in and around Philly about my hair since Joseph has been my stylist!

Joseph knows how to give the best haircut for YOUR hair!

I started getting my hair cut by Joseph over 20 years ago when I saw someone on the street with beautiful curls and asked her where she got her hair cut. I have been a satisfied (thrilled) customer since. For one period of time when i didn't work in town, I got my hair cut locally, now I look back at pictures and can't imagine what I was thinking, so happy I have returned to Joseph who truly understands how my hair grows, lays and what shape is best for me. He has given me advice on what type of glasses frames to wear and I listened, so happy to have that guidance and his suggestions are right! I would not have realized those particular distinctions without him pointing them out. Besides all that, a visit to his salon is a treat, the decor is great, I have fun whenever I'm there!

This guy is awful!

I made a very stupid mistake. I strayed from my regular stylist because I couldn't get an apointment and instead made a last minute appointment at Signatures. What a mistake! Not only was Joseph with his chest hair hanging out and obnoxious attitude enough.....he didn't give me what I wanted. Now...that I look on citysearch..it's obvious that he must write most of these reviews himself...they all sound the same. For ex: "I am the marble, Jospeh is the sculptor"....who writes this stuff? A narcissist. Yuk. Save your money.

A horrible experience.....stay far away

I had read all of these wonderful reviews and decided to give Joseph a try. He did not listen to anything I said and he chopped my hair up so badly that when I went to have it corrected, everyone in the new shop came over to see what this guy had done to me. I This guy is a lunatic and shouldn't be allowed to handle a scissors.

Love my cut! So worth the money!

I was nervous going somewhere I didn't know about and spending that much money but I had just had it with my hair-I was thrilled with the results! Joseph is great-for the amount of time he spends on your hair it is so worth the money.

Worth traveling from Alabama

We came to see Joseph all the way from Alabama (sans Banjo on knee)

I had read about Joseph of Signature's hair Salon in Vogue and on the "NaturallyCurly" website. My two daughters and I have extremely curly and unmanageable hair. We thought that there was no creative cut for our hair...and felt doomed to just do the best we could. Last week we were in Philadelphia together and couldn't wait to visit Joseph.

We walked in looking like the three mop heads from Alabama and walked out like stylish city girls.

Joseph molded each of our cuts to match our features and maybe even our personality:)

He instructed us as to how to wash and style our hair. We all love our new look! Thanks Joseph.

I Love my hair!!!

I had my hair cut a few weeks back and absolutely love the work he did. I hadn't read any reviews prior to going in, just happened to walk in and get a fabulous cut! I have curly/ wavy hair and now it looks great curly or blown out. I would agree with some other reviews that Joseph does not ask or cut the way you say you want it but in my opinion if you go to someone as great as him and pay what he charges you shouldn't have to tell him exactly what you want. He is great at what he does and doesn't need any direction.

Curly hair cut maven

Strangers tell me how lovely my hair is! Since Joseph started cutting it, my hair is lively, healthy, and a happy set of curls. Joseph knows what he's doing with curls, and will commit to making your hair look great, if you will too. The result: a person feels beautiful with a great head of hair. He's an "artiste" and if you want your curls to look good, trust his judgment. I get good, eclectic conversations; attentiveness, and I walk out the door feeling marvelous. It's worth it!

• Cons: Be sure you're not in a rush for a cut/style
