BEST HAPPY HOUR IN PHILADELPHIA

by phillygrl77

For $5 on Friday(used to be Mon-Fri) you can get beer on tap and well drinks. The food has improved over the years, will be going tomorrow!!! Happy Weekend!

Offensive Servers

by amike

Probably one of the worst experiences i have had in Philadelphia. The bartenders were beyond slow, obviously catering to friends despite generous tips. Door staff was ornery and questioned my current ID which indicated that I am 25, a $5 bribe was required to get my 23 year old girlfriend in because she looks young. After all of this we were treated rudely by both the bartenders and the staff during our visit. When my girlfriend ducked to put her sandals on an overzealous bouncer with disgustingly long hair and an inexplicable knit cap interpreted her behavior as inebriated and kicked us out. In a city with so much to offer, Roosevelt's was hands down my worst experience.

  • Pros: absolutely none
  • Cons: rude bar staff, rude security staff, terrible food, very warm beer

Best Friday Happy Hour

by jillyfromphilly

Roosevelts is the best place to celebrate the end of a long work week. Their happy hour special (5-7) is $7 all you can drink (lager, bud light, and well drinks). The bartenders and owner are friendly and fast, making sure you never have an empty drink in your hand. If you are seated or have a large group the servers will give you a pitcher of the beer special. They have a large menu with possibly the best burger in Philadelphia. Their burgers are huge, delicious and served with homemade fries for the amazing price of $3.99. The drinks, food, and crowd make this one of the best spots to start your weekend.

  • Pros: happy hour, burgers, service
  • Cons: crowded, not enough seats

This Walnut Street pub isn't filled with Rough Riders or Trust Busters, but it's good for a pint or two.

In Short
With its noisy crowd and ample display of young male bravado, this pub's attitude somehow approximates the exuberance of its namesake, our twenty-sixth president. Photos of Teddy decorate the walls, as do several televisions for sports viewing. Most weeknights find the bar filled with students and a few locals out for suds and bar eats. It's best not to be in a hurry to get back to the office, as the food service is not the fastest in the city.

Best happy hour

by laur113

this bar's happy hour is the best. for $5 you can drink for 2 hours, which is a great way to wind down after a long day of classes or work. Its not really for kids, but its perfect for a broke student like me. I hope this review helps.

almost missed

by rita_g

The burgers are pretty good...tasty and inexpensive but the owner must try to make his money on the toppings. If you want onion it's $.50 extra not too bad except that when the chef slices the onion he almost misses. What you get are 3 rings from an onion that is sliced quite thin. I can buy a whole onion for less than that. I will concede that if you complain you can get a few more translucent rings and a lecture about how many people waste food. BYO Onion
