It was meh.......
by kdesigner
I stayed at this hotel for a wedding. They gave me a hard time about checking in early so I could get ready for the wedding in my room. The rooms themselves were alright.....it's an older hotel, so not everything is up to date. Overall my stay was alright......not the best, but not the worst!!!!
Spacious and impressive rooms complemented by detailed decor and a host of personal services.

In Short
When you check in at the front desk, a complimentary glass of champagne or bottle of water lets you know that you've arrived in a place where the meaning of personal service isn't just lip service. Listed as a Historic Hotels of America by the National Historic Trust Preservation, this building oozes Old World charm. The Park Hyatt's Sporting Club is free for guest use, and spa treatments are also available.
Turn of the century opulence in Philly
by wjleeiv
The only hotel in Philadelphia that was able to preserve its turn of the century opulence. The public areas are magnificent. The service here was top-notch from the doormen to the front desk personnel. Our room was very large and comfortable with beautiful furnishings, large beds, and a home-like charm overlooking the hotel's conservatory. Dinner in the dining room was a spectacular experience. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers visiting the city of Philadelphia.
- Pros: Magnificent rooms, Excellent service, Dining room top notch
- Cons: , Elevators slow
Beautiful but outdated
by sb_fido
This hotel is absolutely spectacular when it comes to the romantic charm of an old world hotel. But the charm stops there. The rooms were pleasant enough yet lacked all the nicer ammenitys of a Westin or even a Comfort Inn! The TVs were tiny, the beds made with low quality linens, bathrooms are falling apart (poorly constructed to begin with). And the worst is the elevators. Only two which service all the floors. I often waited at least five minutes before one arrived and it was always packed. Stay at a Westin if you want real luxery.
- Pros: Nice veiws, Stunning architecture
- Cons: WAY OVERPRICED, Outdated
Northern High-Class
by jcpluscc
I was reminded of the bygone loveliness of yesteryear. At night the view from the 16th floor is breathtaking. Service is fastastic, even the pillows on the beds are first class! I'll never stay anywhere else in Philly
- Pros: beautiful rooms, good service, close to downton
- Cons: little pricey
Truly Elegant

The guest rooms, newly refurbished, are spectacular. Founders restaurant, with panoramic skyline views, served a truly classic gourmet dinner. The Library Lounge was a lovely end to the evening, where the selection of Ports, desserts, and the friendly service were better than we can recall having had at competing luxury hotels. In all, it was a memorably lovely weekend at a First Class hotel.
- Pros: service, rooms, food
