I got my first Neti pot here...my sinuses are eternally grateful. serious health food store, with the absolute best vegetarian food I've had on the east coast- faux scallops I couldn't tell from real, dairy options galore...one of the few places my carnivore husband and his nearly vegan best friend can agree on...one of those places where we're all comfortable, and well fed.

Pros: yum, fair prices, neat space

Cons: reservations!, call ahead!

The chef is a genius. I've been dining here since it was a small operation serving lunch only, and have never been disappointed. The food is very well prepared.

Pros: Food is well prepared, Inexpensive, Very nutritious

There is no other comparison. Horizons Cafe is the best vegetarian restaurant in the area. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians agree - it's delicious.

Horizons Cafe has been serving the best vegetarian and vegan food in the area for as long as I can remember. And I can't believe that more people have not reviewed it sooner. I've been going there since it was a nook in the neighboring health food store, and now after the most recent expansion, the new restaurant is out of this world! Beautiful tropical decor, exciting monthly menus... it's evolved so much! and it only keeps getting better and better. A few tips: make reservations, the Jamaican BBQ wings are a must!, so is the Pecan & Sage Baked Seitan. And make sure to check out the women's restroom...

Pros: Excellent Food, Gorgeous Dining Room, Very Fair Prices

This is the best vegetarian restaurant anywhere. Virtually everything is vegetarian, unlike many restaurants which bill themselves as "vegetarian," but only have a few pasta dishes on the menu. The chef is a wizard with seitan, the presentation is gorgeous, and the staff is attentive. There are vegan selections on the menu as well.

Pros: All Vegetarian, Wonderful Cuisine, Good Location

Cons: Too Small, Garish Decorations

The originality and freshness of the food is wonderful. This is much better than the ethnic (Chinese & Indian, etc) veg in town.I was brought up going to veg restuarants in NY in the 50's and 60's and nothing in NY now and certainly in the Tri-State area holds a candle to the Horizon. The fact that the owner/chef is now giving cooking lessons and considering writing a cookbook is an added plus. NEVER go on a Friday or Saturday evening without reservations though. Great Value too.

Pros: Food, Value, Free Parking

Cons: Reservations needed
