Excellent & Affordable Italian

Great Italian! Heard about this place from friends. It's a bit of a drive from Phoenixville, but WELL worth it. I Googled the place before going for directions & read other reviews. It was my first visit & I will definately be going back. It's in a strip mall across from the ACME, easy to miss unless you're really looking. I don't know what it originally looked like inside, but the remodel looks great, very classy. If you've never been, your totally missing out! The dinning area is somewhat small, so it can be a bit loud, but it's worth it. Make reservations & be on time no matter when you plan on dinning. Previous reviews mentioned there could be a wait & they were busy for a weeknight. We arrived last night (Wednesday) without reservations & waited under seven minutes for a desired booth- however other people waited much longer. Don't forget to bring your favorite bottle of wine, they are BYO! I ate a faboulous four course meal with my spouse for under $50! You're served a complimentary serving of bruschetta & basket of warm bread before ordering. We had the fried calamari with marinara- delicious. Shared a house salad with their homemade honey balsamic (I'm going to try making it) dressing. We ordered two pasta dishes from the menu & both added custom ingredients. They nailed exactly what we wanted & were happy to do it. Then we shared a chocolate pastry with vanilla gellato for dessert. Can't wait to go back. Staff works as a team & they are extremly warm & friendly. Excellent service, food & value!
- Pros: attentive service, great value, excellent food, prompt,
- Cons: small, parking, noise
excellent service, food etc.

My first time writing a restaurant review. I just moved here from Manhattan and I have already been to this restaurant about a dozen times. It has an extensive menu and they make any changes I ask for. The service is great and the staff is friendly and knows the menu very well. The food is delicious. Got to go.....Off to Fellini's!!!!!
- Pros: food, service, decor, portion size
- Cons: long wait at times (worth the wait, though)
Wonderful food, friendly staff, not much elbow room

I've never posted a review anywhere, but the negative comments that were at the top of the page for Fellini's Cafe/Newtown Square just didn't match the place I've visited three or four times a year for the past four years. I have never had a bad meal or an unpleasant service experience at this restaurant -- on the contrary, the staff is always pleasant and friendly, and the food is always good and sometimes great.
Bring a nice red wine along, and expect a wait on weekends or during busy weekdays. Don't be scared off by one person's allegedly bad experience; this is a perfect place to get a fantastic Italian dinner. Enjoy!
- Pros: Service, delicious Italian menu, desserts, BYOB
- Cons: Crowded and a bit noisy

This was a lunch favorite when I worked in Newtown Square. Service is quick and the tomato basil soup is fantastic - very rich in flavor and has been consistently good. Prices are great, pasta is delicious!
Worst Service Ever!!!

One of the worst meals I have ever had! The waiter walked away from our table in the middle of taking our order without saying why. When asked to describe the fish special he said...."it's grilled, that's the way it is" When in fact it was breaded, pan fried and covered in butter, spinach and capers (very sad, because it was quite possibly the only good thing on the menu). The veal involtini was sooo salty it was basically inedible. My lips are still shriveled up from the salt and I only tasted this dish. The lasagna al forno showed no signs of the promised bechamel sauce and tasted like something lean cuisine might offer and shared a similar salt content to the veal. The mussels were fishy, the lobster ravioli was bland with very briny crab meat on top. We sat staring at our plates for 20 minutes waiting for our waiter to ask how we were doing or fill our water glasses or even acknowledge that we were still sitting in the restaurant. No one ever approached us, or asked how we enjoyed our food. When our waiter finally came to collect our plates (which were still largely full,) we let him know exactly how we felt. He promised to speak to the manager, but did not apologize. The check eventually appeared (dropped off by another member of the waitstaff) there was no apology, no offer of a discount, no visit from the manager. We eat at other Fellini's locations several times a month so we were seriously put off by the way we were treated. Our waiter never approached our table again and no one spoke to us about our experience at all. Another staff member alerted our waiter that our check was ready, but he declined to approach our table and the hostess had to come retrieve it. We will not be returning and I hope to warn as many people as possible so they don't make the same mistake we did. I only regret that this place shares the same name as a fine, consistently wonderful establishment in Media, because I don't want it to tarnish their image.
Best little Italian cafe in Delco

The room is small and elbows are close. It is just like a family gathering. The reason we come is for the food and the wine. Go online and look at the menu. Choose a bottle and show up. Yes there will be a line if you did not make reservations. The pasta is the best in the area including Philadelphia. The sauces are fresh and full of flavor. The menu is extensive and full of imagination. When my wife and I have company in town this is the spot for dinner. My parents live in Charlotte and when it town request not by name but by that "Little Italian place". When you get your check you will be surprised, even after adding the cost of bottle or two... The portions are large, delicious and well priced. About a year ago I called and made noon reservations on a Sunday for 6. I later found out that they opened an hour early just to accommodate our small family lunch. Service, family atmosphere, and the best Italian food at any price in the area.
Matt and Shannon.
- Pros: FOOD! service, flexibility, small and family oriented.
- Cons: No large groups, but I can live with that.
good service, good menu

While there is an element of the red sauce, checked table cloth to this place, (Have you ever seen Big Night?) overall it's pretty good - especially at the price.
The calamari is vert well done and most of the pasta dishes are clean and tasteful.
A great place to take the family.
- Pros: good value, good for family

They offer great food and fast service. They are a BYOB and the argula salad is the greatest! The one downside to this restaurant is that they jam you in - tables are too close, but line is always out the door trying to get in! Yummy

Fellini's in Newtown Square serves by far the best Italian food in the Philadelphia area (South Philly included). Although the restaurant is small, the food is spectacular. Be sure to try the tortellini. Expect a very long wait to get in. The menu is extensive and the value for what you get is excellent. I never have to go to South Philly for Italian again.
- Pros: Great Value, Outstanding food, Main Line location
- Cons: Crowded, Long Waits to get in, BYOB
