The REAL Philly Cheesesteak
by KimJess
I have grown up eating cheesesteaks from Leo's since I was a little girl. As a matter of fact, I can still remember when Leo's used to be at the Sharon Hill trolley stop a block up!
Why people swear up and down that Pat's or Geno's is the place to go if you want a real cheesesteak is beyond me. They are not real cheesesteaks. They're nothing more than a fatty mess with no taste on a roll. They definitely get too much hype for nothing. And they charge you an arm and a leg for that slop. Not even worth it.
The real deal is found at Leo's. They may be a little more in price compared to your local steak shops but I never complain because they way I see it, they are giving me more than my money's worth. They pack so much meat onto one roll that you can literally take enough steak off the roll to make two additional sandwiches. Their steak sandwiches are always fresh and there are no others that can even come close to comparison.
For all the shops around the nation that try to attract customers by saying they sell "real Philly cheesesteaks," you have a lot to learn. Don't say you offer a Philly cheesesteak until you've been to Leo's and see what one actually is. Broken up pieces of a steak on a roll isn't a cheesesteak!
Thanks for all the kick a** steaks over the years, Leo's. Hope you are around for many more generations to come!
- Pros: Beats Pat's and Geno's by a landslide
- Cons: Nothing
Best steaks in the world!!!!!!!

Born and raised right around the corner from Leo?s, remember when they started at the trolley stop as a fruit & produce stand. I?m sure glad they made the switch to steaks!! Now live in the Frederick MD area and can?t get a steak worth a darn down here. Every chance I get to come home I stop for the greatest steak around!!! I have friends here that I take up and they can not believe how great they are, truly awesome!!!
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: No seats, small waiting area
HUGE steaks

saw the reviews on line and had to check it out.... The place is run down looking and it looks like someones house....but it adds to the charm of how unbelievably AWESOME the steaks are. Pats and geno's you get a sliver of steak on a bun........Leos you get a ton of tender steak on a bun. Im driving up to philli this weekend for a job interview and im def stopping in again......!
- Pros: best steak ive had in philli area to date and ive been everywhere
- Cons: nowhere to sit except outside (2 picnic tables) the menu is on the wall and a bit hard to figure out

I'm originally from DelCo, live in Poconos now. Every time I pass through or visit, I make sure I stop for a hoagie or a pizzasteak. I have recommended to people passing through from as far away as Jersey City and Virginia, none have been disappointed. I getting hungry just writing about this!!!
- Pros: Huge Hoagies, Huge Steaks, Huge Taste
- Cons: No Seating
