I agree with the previous reviews and wanted to add my own two cents worth here. I saw Dr. Downey for my painful bunions and toes and after trying non-surgical care, he fixed both of my painful feet with surgery. He is BY FAR THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!! He is competent and spends the time with you to explain your problem. You do have to wait at some of your office visits with him, but he never rushes you and will take the time to make sure all of your questions are answered and you understand what is planned. What more can you ask for! I'll take the small wait to have the BEST and Dr. Downey is all that! The surgery was not painful (friends have had bunion surgery by others and had severe pain), and the recovery was simple and uneventful. My feet are now perfect and I can do anything and wear all my shoes again. Thank you Dr. Downey!

Michael Downey is a genius, the one to go to when no one else has a clue. You have to have the intestinal fortitude of a Marine though to survive the endless waiting and downright evil office staff.
Pros: Downey is warm, easy to talk to and is able to explain things in plain english.
Cons: He cancels appointments frequently at the last minute, 15 minute visits take hours of waiting, nasty office staff, nightmare parking.

Highly recommended - you won't be disappointed! Dr. Downey is well respected and the author of a major textbook on Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is competent and compassionate.
Pros: Great surgeon - compassionate
Cons: None.
