This is a good time if you want to get out with friends and have a good time. Also very good music
Not a good time...........

We went for a bach. party and wanted to dance. The dj was terrible and played too much slow music and even remixed fast songs so they were slow. So annoying.....it was obvious people were trying to dance on the dance floor but he didn't seem to care and he never looked up to check out the scene.....just smoked his cigarette like a tool. He really was awful at picking out songs to get the vibe going. Couldn't hear the music on he deck either which kind of sucked since that's the coolest part of the bar. The inside upstairs is very tight and hot. The crowd was very questionable as well.........I def would not return here.
- Pros: rooftop deck and view
- Cons: saturday night dj; the crowd
THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF
by jmhong
IMPORTANT NOTE:
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING A BOTTLE SERVICE (VIP). We reserved a table with 2 bottle service and was treated like 3rd class average joe. I feel like i got robbed and rapped with bad service and REALLY BAD MUSIC. I do not recommend this place to anyone even if this place was the only place around. I had more fun at the dentist. we had a large group of 15 and they will never go back to this place again. AND ITS VERY, VERY HUMID SWEATING HOT IN THE CLUB ... NO Air Conditioning. Cheap Bastards!
- Pros: Exit Door and never look back.
- Cons: Where do i start...
odd vibe

I read that this place was cool and that it was very hard to get up to the sky lounge without a long wait, so we went Sunday at 7:45 to avoid the crowd. The bouncer acted like he wasn't sure he was going to let us in. When we got in we found there to be 0 (zero) nobody in there except the staff. I was in a group of four and we were looking forward to eating out on the roof top ("Sky Lounge"). There were no tables up there only beds and there were two staff members up there alone with the music turned up so high you could not speak. Cool for drinks but we were looking to sit down. We went to the roof top at the Continental and had a great meal. I may go back some day but prob not.
- Pros: sky lounge looked cool
- Cons: Bouncer and vibe kinda creepy
Would go back if had nowhere else to go

Went there this past weekend on a Saturday night. It's a nice atmosphere but the bouncers are pretty rude. There's a little short thick neck dude that thinks he's head of security. He has a bad attitude no matter what he's doing and he's a total a-hole.The other bouncer is a perve and he told me and my friends he would let us bypass the line to get upstairs if he could "do" the three of us. You do have to wait in line to get upstairs, I assume it's for the exclusivity but when you get up there the whole atmosphere changes. The music is a whole lot better up there and it get's pretty crowded so it's well worth the wait. Tho around 1:00 am they started playing whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin and even threw in a little MJ. You def. do have to have a drink to get upstairs even though there's a bar up there. The outside deck is really nice and when it's cool they have the heat lamps up. There's a flat screen tv up there and a section for private parties. The only downside is that when they close the doors you can't hear the music but I guess it's good for any conversation you might want to have. I've never had the food so I can't comment on that but drink prices aren't too bad and they do put enough alcohol in them. They have a coat check which is a plus and it's only $2. All in all it's not a horrible place once u get past the bouncers so like I said I would probably go back if I have no other place to go.
- Pros: Great music on the second floor . . . in the beginning
- Cons: Bouncers are rude
Never go here
by iwbik86
Went here 2 weekends ago and the second floor smelled like v0mit. If that wasn't a tell-tale sign to jet, the extremely rude service was. The staff at Vango clearly does not know how to treat its customers. I've never had an experience like this before. They definitely need a lesson in company-client relationships.
Never go to Vango unless you want to be treated poorly as a paying customer.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Poor service
Sketchy

Not a lot of bars in Philly search your purse before you enter (which is surprising, given this is Philly...). This bar will search your bag-- which was our first red-flag. And you're not allowed to take in water. Even if it's in a SEALED bottle. I always carry water in my purse; health-wise, it's a good idea to have a bottle in-hand. Especially in this place because it takes forever to get some from the bar itself. Confiscating coke and weeding out minors should be a priority over confiscating my bottled water.
People definitely v*mited (CitySearch will not let me type the full word) somewhere on the second floor because it reeked. I guess that's likely to happen on Saturday nights in a lot of bars; but I've never smelled it like that before.
You have to wait in line to get to the roof. And your wait will be longer if you are white. Which is very unfortunate, given the majority of Philly is color-blind.
- Pros: Cool decor
- Cons: Bouncers are pretentious, Feels like a wanna-be NYC club
Great Place!

Love this place, great food, nice staff. Just got home from spending the evening there for Latin Night. What's better than drink specials and dancing?!
Party Saver!
by janbento22
I recently had a party reservation at a nearby club, which began jerking me around. I decided at the last minute to move my party to Vango. They were very accomodating on short notice. They only required a small deposit, which was credited to my tab the night of the party. They have a huge drink variety and the appetizers were to die for! Check this place out, especially for large parties!
