I've been a member of Bally's, LA Fitness and a few women's-only clubs, and they aren't even a comparison to the perks I get at Future Fitness. I am very happy so far with the trainers, the classes and even the child care club, except I wish it was open more hours. All the people there are friendly, and if I don't go for a week, the receptionists always notice and ask where I've been! They don't make you feel like just a number. The fees are reasonable (I'm paying $38 a month) - much lower than I expected for all the things they offer for free. I'm pretty sure I finally found a gym I can call "home".
Pros: practically everything
Cons: daycare opens at 9:00 am (wish it were earlier)

I joined Future Fitness 2 1/2 years ago and have been really happy with my experiences. Lots of my friends ended up coming over from other gyms, and we all think it's the best one around. I like the atmosphere - it's a "no BS" place. People are friendly, but most are serious about getting into shape. The trainers are a lot of help, especially when I first started and hadn't exercised in a long time. I don't use the pool, but like that they have one in case I decide to. The hours are good, and the equipment is better than any other gym I've ever been to.

It's easy to comment on Future Fitness. I have personally found that everything they say in their ads is true. The best way to use the gym is to take advantage of everything they have to offer. I'm comfortable with their personal trainers and they really are free, I don't know how they do it. Their sports Dr. has given me only good advice, I look forward to my monthly meetings with the nurse to check my progress and the nutritionalist has changed my eating habits for the better. I'm not paying much more than I did at my last fitness center but I feel as if it's worth every penny and although I don't plan on quiting any time soon I'm glad they enrolled me month to month instead of locking me into a long term contract like my last gym did. The place is clean, huge, and although I go to the gym after I get done work, it's never crowded. I probably sound like an ad for them but I have been disappointed in other clubs in the past and I'm thrilled to finally find one that delivers the results I've always been looking for.
Pros: Free personal trainers, Dr.. RN, Nutritionalists. All the latest equipment on the market
Cons: pool to warm for me to swim many laps, but the other people seem to like it that way

The only thing better than 4 Future Fitness health clubs in this area, is 5! Since I live in Mt. Laurel and work in Blackwood, I love the ability to use the different locations. Now a new one is opening in Mullica Hill. Each one is fully-equipped with the best machines, really clean, quality staffing, and fun classes. Our whole family are now members and there's something for every age! I have always exercised in health clubs and find this one to be the best yet.
Pros: everything

I was a member at Bally's and LA Fitness at one time, and was discouraged by their poorly run clubs. Equipment was always broken, it was dirty, and there was never anyone around to help. I've been a member now at Future Fitness for about a year, and have had only great experiences. Their clubs are clean, professional, and most important - they have a no-nonsense approach. I not only have gotten into great shape, I'm managing to stay in shape because of the help I'm getting. This is the first club I've been to that I highly recommend!
Pros: Excellent equipment!
Cons: No daycare on Sundays

have been working out for over 20 years and have been a member of numerous clubs. I can tell you, Future Fitness is full of probems... Starting with their high-pressure sales approach which is full of lies (such as, "controlled membership size, no crowding, plenty of parking, simple cancellation, dedicated personal training programs," etc). After sign-up, the management forgets about you, although the owner, Craig, may yell at you for forgetting to bring a towel. This guy (such a fake) has decades-old pictures of himself posted around the gym of when he was injecting steroids daily. Now the guy wears a wig and always has a fake tan... They're so strict about using towels, however, they fail to offer a towel service. The "silo" approach to sales has led this maze-like club to be very overcrowded during mid morning and early evening hours, making it nearly impossible to have an efficient workout, due to the long wait time for machines (especially the cardio equipment). The personal training program is very overrated. Cleanliness is another issue: there's always spare equipment and things laying around, machines are dusty, the ugly curtains covering the walls are very dirty. Maintenance is haphazard: the ceiling was recently spray painted without the club being properly ventilated which led to all the equipment being dusty and the air very unhealthy to breath (this lasted for weeks). The circulation system is terrible; the whole gym feels like a sauna... When you try to cancel your overpriced membership.. good luck; the cancellation process is full of red tape. While the club does offer some nice pieces of equipment, the place is not worth the money. I could go on and on, but basically, the strategy of Future Fitness is to sign up as many people as possible, many of whom eventually become frustrated and stop coming, but are forced to continue paying because the cancellation process is such a time-consuming hassle.. We really need something better in this area.
Pros: some nice equipment
Cons: unprofessional sales tactics, bad customer service, overcrowding, uncleanliness, bad ventilation
