We took our dog i for grooming. They were TWO hours late with the grooming. When we got home the dog was acting strangely, scooting alot and trying to lick her privates. We realized then that they had cut all around her genitals and she was bleeding. Not profusely, but that she was bleeding at all means that we are never going back here and we suggest you avoid doggie style as well.

I was visiting from out of state and purchased $70 worth of items for my dog. One item was priced $7 lower than the actual price but rung up as the higher price. I noticed when I got back to my hotel and called right away and was told "sorry, we cannot do refunds". I was not able to get back there because I had to go to the airport and they refused to refund the difference on my credit card. I had to call back several times to speak to the manager once I was back home and was only offered the option for store credit. This was obviously not appropriate because I do not live in Philly so they finally decided to send me another item (of the manager's choice) that was the value of the store credit and I never received it. It's March and this happened last November. Very poor customer service. They have cute stuff but I would not recommend spending your money there because of their attitude.

Pros: Cute merchandise

Cons: They did not honor the price of something that they made a mistake on

First of all after reading all the reviews i am somewhat surprised at what people think. by my experiences are much different so all i have to say is keep up the good work and you cant make everyone happy. i had gotten a tip from one of my co works to go there after having trouble at other pet stores in the city the staff exceeded my expectations they knew more then i had ever imagined they were kind an curtsies and answered all my question the best they could and the ones they did not know they found of for me by the next time i came in. they walked me step by step through the first year of my dogs life and for that i am in debt to them she is now a year and a half old in 100% health and i owe it all to them for explaining the food and exorcising of a dog to me Thank you DoggieStyle

Pros: people, enviorment, dogs allowed, good selections

Cons: sometimes they are too busy when i am in a rush

My husband took our dog Charlotte(a 9lb. mini-dachshund) to get groomed at this place, it was her 2nd time going there. While we thought it was a bit pricey ($65 + they ask if you want to leave a tip on your card) the last time we brought her there they did a pretty good job and Charlotte seemed fine. Her appointment was at 12pm. They told my husband to pick her up in about 3 hours, so he went back at 3pm, they said she still was not done but would be finished very shortly. He asked if he should reschedule and they said no they would be done very soon, at 5:45 they called to say she was finally done getting groomed-5 1/2 hours later than her scheduled time. After he picked her up they started to walk down Spruce street and he noticed Charlotte wimpering and licking her stomach, when he picked her up he saw a 1 inch gash at least 1/4-1/2 inch thick on her stomach. He went back to the shop and asked the groomer how this cut happend and why he was not notified of it when he picked her up and she said she hadn't even seen it? He asked to speak to the owner or a manager, did not get anything but an assistant and sales clerk, who were very apologetic and felt really bad- but he still did not get any explanation as to how he could have picked up his dog and not been told she had been cut while getting groomed! I put full responsibility on the groomer and Doggy Styles who employs this type of person. We took our dog to Penn Emergency care and luckily the cut just missed going deep enough to need stitches. Unfortunately our dog has been very traumatized by this incident. I will never step foot into that establishment again and if you care about your pet's welfare you will do the same!

I stumbled upon this website while looking for city pet boutiques. I was suprosed to find the review on teh pet sitting. While I can not comment on the previous services, I can comment on the recent services. Doggie Style no longer run their own Pet Sitting services. Instead Sniffles and Friends has taken over and they are beyond great!!!! They have great service, friendly/caring sitters and they are willimg to accomidate your needs. I would recommend them to anyone that may have a bad tatse in their mouth from prior experience with others, give them a try now. Not only will you not be sorry, but your pet will love you for it. My sitter is like extended family.

i went to doggie style because they are the only place i found that has the buddie belt . we go in and i ask if i can return them if they do not fit she says yes. so my sister is with me and she says i think i want to bring my dog because they are alot of money but i say again , are you sure i can return this if they don't work and she says yes of course and i say cause i will be back today if they don't. again yes it is not a prob. go home<i have2 dogs> one fits one does not so we go back . she goes to give me a store credit , i say you never told me it was store credit , i wouldn't have gotten it if i knew that , i asked you at least twice and it was never mentioned. she said well i'm sorry that is our policy call your credit card company and see what they can do , i do this and after some time they tell me they spoke to the merchant and said i was fully aware of the policy at the time . i will tell every one never to go and i'm canceling that credit card as well

Pros: clean

Cons: everything else

I bought a couple of things for my mother's dogs, because they were coming to stay with me for the weekend. I did not buy the correct size harnesses and went to return them the next day. I had a receipt, tags were on and I don't even take them out of the bag. (My mother told me each dog only weighted 15lbs, it was more like 20lbs). I was told that I could only get store credit, not a refund. This would have been fine, except they don't carry a larger size harness. I was told by the sales girl that the owner might or might not ever stock a larger harness. I was also told that my credit was only good at that store, not at the Doggie Style website or one of the other stores. Worst pet place ever. Check out some of the other pet supply places in the city. Other places have all the same things and great customer service. (I called Chic Petique to see if they carried the larger size harness. They didn't, but ordered them and they let me trade the harness I bought at Doggie Style. How nice is that?)

Pros: Can't think of any

Cons: The store policy and customer service. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else.

We paid Doggie Style (Spruce Street location) to look after our cats while we were on vacation. Rather than having just one person take care of the animals, they assigned 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE to do it (ostensibly because it was the holidays and they were short staffed). The last of the 3 people DID NOT SHOW UP, so when we got home both food and water were bone dry. We don’t know exactly how long they were without food and water, but both cats were dehydrated and one had lost a significant amount of weight. We called Doggie Style to tell them, and they ended up firing the caretaker who did not show. But it has been 1 month and they have STILL NOT REFUNDED OUR MONEY or returned our repeated calls to settle the matter. In the few conversations we have had with the owner and her staff, they have been rude and dishonest. If you value your pets’ lives (which clearly you do or you wouldn’t be reading this), please think twice about using Doggie Style as they are disorganized at best, flagrantly irresponsible at worst.
