Good Idea but BAD service made it a not so good idea.

by tekkid

I am highly disappointed! Went there this past weekend and was pretty excited to be there. The place looks cool and plus I was on a date. First thing we noticed, the tables were not clean and there was no one to seat us. We just grabbed the first table we saw. I guess thats how it works, because no one complained. So after seating ourself, we notice the waiters and waitresses were watching the games on the tv and having conversations, ignoring the customers. We waited 10 minutes before one of the workers took notice that we were there. Then when taking our orders, we were rushed and given attitude like we were bothering them. The guy that was our waiter could not remember my order and it was just a beer to start off... He asked me 4 times what type of beer I wanted. I guess his mind was some where else. I dont think i will be back to this place. Its ashame because the place setup really nice but bad food and service and kind of pricey... i dont think i will spend my hard earned money there, until the food and service improves.

  • Pros: Idea, Drinks, Bowling, Pool tables, Atmosphere
  • Cons: Service and Food... I didnt care for both

Classy and Chic- and it's a Bowling Alley!

by JackieQ

Bowling is always fun, but who would have guessed a night out bowling could also be a trendy/chic/ dare I say luxurious experience? That's exactly what my girlfriend's bachelorette party was at Lucky Strike. We rented one of those private rooms and enjoyed a night filled with endless cosmos, great coversation, dancing, bowling and FUN!

I was a guest on Saturday evening, my first time at a Lucky Strike and I and my friends had an awesome time. We saw 2 celebrities, and participate in a radio event. We ordered some finger foods which were all yummy, my favorite was the tomato and cheese smores. Service was top notch! I recommend this place for a great night out, food, service and fun was awesome!

Great place but bad service...

by ang2921

I love lucky strikes as far as the bowling, promotions, food and drinks are concerned but when it comes to service this place is the worst. I have been there more times than I can count and have only had one evening of good service. If it weren't for the mentioned perks I would not be back but this place is just too cool to pass up. What is so hard about hiring good servers?

  • Pros: Food, drinks, atmosphere, management.
  • Cons: All the servers need help...

Awesome Venue for Private Events

by hmoore76

I hosted a private party at Lucky Strike Lanes and it was the best decision I ever made. The management and waitstaff made it an easy and enjoyable experience. The banquet style food tables offered my guests

many appetizer selections which included BBQ/Thai/Pep/Plain Pizza, Coco Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, Beef Skewers, Cheese Smores and warm cookies for desert. I was also able to set up a great package which allowed me to offer my guests an open bar during my event. The waitstaff was a step ahead in providing everything that I needed to make my guests happy. I would recommend Lucky Strike to anyone looking to host a party was now stress.

  • Pros: Great Venue for Private Parties!!

Philadelphia's Most Trendy Night Spot!!!

by georgiep

Lucky Strike is my favorite Night Spot in Philly!

It's Hip/Retro decor was very inviting. The lounge was dimly lite and had flashy neon lights down the lanes. The walls were covered in funky artwork, and the jumbo TV screens displayed sports, movies, & art. The food was great. It's an american cuisine w/ a twist. My favorite is the Hot Spiced Burger. It was so tangy and juicy. My date got the Beef Nachos & Chicken Trio which offered a mixtue of favored chicken skewers ranging from ancho to asian.

The service was also great. Our waitress was friendly and gave us many suggestions of appetizers & drinks to try. She wasn't wrong when she told me to get The Split. It was like a orange creamsicle martini.

At the end of the night I couldn't find my cell phone. Even though she was busy with other customers, our waitress helped us find it.

I would recommend this hot bowling alley/lounge to any in Philly looking to have fun in style!

  • Pros: Fun w/ Style, Cozy Atmosphere, Discounted Parking, Great Service, Tasty Food
  • Cons: Pool Tables only open on Fridays & Saturdays

Lucky Strike Lanes= Hip Music, Poppin' Drinks, Great Food & oh yeah Bowling!!!

by dlane228

From the moment I walked into this trendy bar/lounge/bowling alley I was impressed. I went to Lucky Strike on a Saturday night around 9:30pm with 10 of my friends. Since there was an hour wait for a lane we sat at cozy lounge couch where we were promptly greeted by a cute 20-something cocktail waitress wearing a short black shirt, fishnet stockings and knee high boots....this place definitely isn't your hometown bowling palace-LOL. We ordered a couple rounds of drinks and some appts while enjoying the game on 25 huge screen TV's. This is a great place to hang out with a group of people and an even better place to bring a date.

Recommended Food/Drinks: Coco Shrimp, Buffalo Chix Crisps, Thai Pizza, Jumpin' Jolly Rancher

  • Pros: Great Food, Great Drink Selection, Hip Music, Parking Validation, Nice Workers, Cute Servers!

Awesome!!!

by jd27

Overall it is very nice. The food is good, the drinks are good (Especially the California Dreamin', it's a green

colored Long Island Iced Tea with Sprite instead of Coke) and the whole atmosphere is nice. The huge plasma televisions and projectors are great for sports fans. The DJ is great (at least when I went, a mix of pop and old-shool hip-hop) and the lanes are cool ( alittle slick if you're a real bowler who spins your ball). Overall I had a ball.

  • Pros: Location, atmosphere, drinks
  • Cons: parking

Awful Service. Avoid at all costs

by jubbu

Really cool space and great idea. However, this place has some of the worst service I've ever experience. Went on a quiet Sunday nite, maybe 50 people in the entire place, and still waited 10-15 minutes to order or recieve drinks. Similarily, attempting to rent a lane is nearly impossible. Although not all lanes were in use the clerk responsible for assigning lanes responded to any questions about availability with the stock answer of "It is a 2 hour wait." Ulitmately, this is a great idea but everybody employed by the establishment is the definite of rude and unhelpful.

  • Pros: Cool space, very clean
  • Cons: Terrible service, rude employees, no parking, over price food and drinks
