There is something about this place I didn't like. It's almost sort of Euro-Trash club where everyone goes just to find someone to sleep with. Not only are the women shallow but the men are too. Not only that, but something underground I sense about this place, like some illegal stuff could be going on. It just seems very shady and my gut feelings are usually right when I feel something. The music can put you to sleep. It's too dark and that doesn't help either. The ugly Nordic lookin blonde who sits in the front has such an attitude problem, or maybe its just her face, lol. All of the other females who work there make it seem like a gentlemen's club, hanging all over their male customers for extra tips. You can almost bet your bottom dollar you will catch a disease if you sleep with someone outta this place. Very euro-trash, sleezy.
Pros: You can sleep easily, in any aspect. lol.
Cons: You'll catch a disease and you might fall asleep before even taking her home lol.

Such a terrible bar. The overall experience was the worst! Service was horrible. The servers cared more about themselves than the patrons. The drinks were made poorly. Alcohol should actually be an ingredient in a mixed drink!! The music was terrible and practically put me to sleep or in a trance. I just don't recommend this place at all.
Pros: Nothing unfortunately
Cons: The service, the drinks, the music

Service was just rude from the moment you walked into the door. The not so hot but thought she was hot girl checking IDs was to busy trying to steal glances of herself in the window. The bartenders could care less how long you waited for a drink. The only thing they cared about was smoking there cigarettes and blowing it back into your face. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING!! It was just an awful place and extremelly small. I would never go back!
Pros: The fact that the door swung both ways and you can leave just as easily as you came
Cons: Everything!

The bar's website is completely untrue and allows readers to believe it is a decent size with a decent staff. The bartenders are very rude, service is slow and the smoking is overwhelming. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. There are too many other bars on the same street that are actually decent.
Pros: Close to other more friendly and welcoming bars
Cons: Rude Service

when i first got here i thought oh cool, this place looks very chill... i was wrong the bouncer yelled to the blond chick holding the door to "hold the line"... i turn back around and was like... first off... WHAT LINE? then i look inside and see that this is not near capacity at all! so i was like ok whatever 5 people will leave and these 5 guys with me will be let in... but then i saw racial profiling quickly take place. first one guy pops his head in... the blond chick stops him and he has to wait ouside... then he pops his head in again to motion the owner and owner lets him in cuz he knows him... fine but then more people did this and continued to get in as my friends were left waiting outside, and all the blond chick could do was say to my friends "we're at capacity u know how it is... people who know the bouncer..." i'm sorry but she can't seem to count because it seemed like it was their turn to get in... it was getting really ridiculous... we had just brought in 10 girls... and apparently we couldn't get our 5 guys in... we quickly realized we were not welcomed because we didn't fit the profile of the place... collared shirt, tall, blond... i'm sorry but this is america where yes there are people of color and yes we may hang out in groups, but seriously why discriminate especially in an economy that is doing so bad... wouldn't u want your place to have as much business as possible? you never know who you are turning away until its too late. we are a bunch of successful young professionals from philly and ny and we have a ton of networks that could potentially put someone out of business if one of us had a bad experience... sorry but these days word of mouth is the most effective form of advertisement. please do not go here! i have written many good reviews on yelp so i'm not the type of person who would just yelp to rag on somebody. please take my word for it.
Cons: rude inappropriate service

Went to the Monkey Bar again over the Labor Day holiday weekend with the gentleman I am dating , even though we always enjoy our evenings out, the Monkey Bar is quite entertaining and the owners are very nice. I look forward to our next visit there. Denise

I haven't been there when it was supposedly too crowded but I do really like this place. Small and cozy, great for happy hour drinks with friends and a good starting point for going out. The staff that I've encountered have been really nice, and the drinks, while they weren't cheap, weren't expensive either. I dig the atmosphere, and I've been back many times.
Pros: Good Atmosphere, Friendly Staff
Cons: Could be Cheaper

This bar is in between cozy and trendy. The staff is so, so nice. The first time I went there, I mentioned I was hungry, and the cute bartender ordered us pizzas which he wouldn't let me pay for. Needless to say I will try to always go there with my gals to start off our night outs.
Pros: Bartenders, Inexpensive, Wine List

went to this bar for the first time with a couple of friends on friday night. had a really great time. all of their beer was $3, and all of their mixed drinks were $4! (which, for rittenhouse area, is a steal). seemed like there were still a few groups that had probably come in for an after-work happy hour thing, so i'll have to check them out at that time soon. the bartenders were great, very attentive. even gave my friends some reeses peanut butter cups when we went to leave. highly recommended if you want to go out in rittenhouse area to a smaller place with still a great atmosphere.
Pros: cheap drinks, jukebox, great bartenders
