I have shopped at Greene Street in Bryn Mawr for about four years now and I have to say that I agree with the poor reviews of the staff. I understand that working retail, especially consignment, is not the thrill of anyone's life. However, I have worked retail myself in the past and I would've been fired for acting like thos girls do. It is definitely true that they're either on their cell phones or loudly talking to each other about their personal lives. However, the clothes are cute and cheap, so who really cares? If you want personal service, go to Nordstrom.

I love Greene st its a wonderful place to shop. they have cute trendy clothes and are in good condition. Pricing is great, you get great deals on designer jeans etc...I LOVE THE STAFF they are always pleasant and friendly considering that the customers aren't always friendly. Once I was in an a customer got really rude with the staff and I think the staff handle themselves very respectfully. I believe whoever wrote the review about the "rude staff" is probably just rude themselves. Because, you have to give respect to get respect.

I love Greene Street, because the clothes are in excellent condition and they have a very nice selection. Last time I was there, they were having a sale and I got two pairs of Donna Karan pants, a pair of Gap jeans, and a Lilly Pulitzer skirt for $15 - total! Unfortunately, the staff makes shopping there an unpleasant experience, as they are more interested in having conversations with each other and on the phone than waiting on customers. When they finally do get around to helping you, they are rude and act like they're doing you a favor. I've also had two of them be careless with the pen they use to write up the sale and actually leave pen marks on my clothing! I will continue to shop there because the prices are so good for what you get, but I really wish management/owners would teach the staff how to provide even mediocre customer service - it would be an improvement from outright rudeness.
Pros: selection, prices, name brands, well-organized, handy parking
Cons: rude staff, lack of customer service, store hours not convenient

Because street parking is usually available right out front, I often stop in! The store is super-organized for easy shopping, the clothes are in great condition and are from the stores I like to shop (bloomies, jcrew, etc.), and prices are suprisingly lower than other consignment shops. This shop is not a thrift store. I always end up buying something new and trendy and something old and classic!

Green street has some very nice clothes. Everything is in good condition, and the fashions are fairly recent. I've found a few things that I really like there. The shop's atmosphere is pleasant -- open, with nicely done displays, plenty of space to move between racks and a nice place to sit and try on shoes. However, prices are very high for a thrift shop. I paid $16 for a pair of shoes, for example. I prefer to go to thrift shops with a little less ambiance so that I can find better deals.
