User Reviews for Carlino's Specialty Foods Incorporated

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I have been going to Carlinos for a decade--and I always thought they were relatively good. However--I just noticed that they added the Bressi Meat Market line of meats---now---they are AWESOME. The Bressi meats, paired with their oils and cheese makes Carlinos the best of the main line by far. Google Carlinos or Bressi meats for more information...check them out!!!

Pros: Bressi Meats, Sopressata, Take out food, oils...

Cons: None...

We have lived in suburban Philly for about 4 years now, and Carlino's is our favorite find in the area. It's great to have in the neighborhood to pick up essentials on the fly, but we never make it out of there with just a container of milk. We could happily spend an afternoon eyeing all (and sampling many) of the tasty meats, cheeses, breads, dips... I have to drag my husband out of the place... it's irresistible. Some of their stuff can be expensive, but much is pretty fair. We also like trying to support a local business, even if it's a little more expensive, and feel like they are the real deal when it comes to Italian. We haven't ever used the catering service, but have always found the food we purchased in-store to be excellent. It's a one-stop if you're having people over. It was obvious to us from our first visit that they are passionate about their food and their shop. It's just fun to go there!

Pros: A tasty food experience

Cons: A little pricey

Our company uses catering services every day… We tried Carlino’s for a lunch for 20 people, – And boy were we let down! Did not send all the food-They forgot the salad and dressing, so we called back! They argued with us and said we should have enough! Then they said they would send the salad to us. They gave us 14 can sodas and changed us $40 dollars for them.. Over all we were charged over $15 dollars per person for 5 tuna (small) sandwiches and 5 vegetables sandwiches and other cold sandwiches (LENT) small pasta salad, a mixed green salad and cookies. When I call and was concerned I was told other companies don’t have a problem with what they charge? I know it will be the last time we use them EVER!!!!!

Pros: NONE!

Cons: STAFF and cost!

Carlino's is Italy on the Main Line. There is no place that can offer you such a fine array and such quality. Start with their produce. Clean and fresh and sometimes lower priced than the grocery store. Move to prepared fresh/frozen pastas (try the pumpkin ravioli), excellent cheeses ( Only Di Bruno's offers you more in cheese) and authentic Italian meats. Try their pizzas - the real thing: from the purest simple tomato to quattro stagioni. Prepared dinners! Better than any restaurant. And bread - several types, all fresh made, all the highest quality. If you have a question about food, talk to Mamma Carlino or email her. She's a real person and can offer invaluable information. If you go on a Holiday - be prepared. The traffic in is so heavy, they have their own policeman. This is truly one of the essentials for anyone who knows anything about real food.

Pros: perfectly real and fresh food, superb breads and pizza, fine cheeses and meats
