Yesterday I purchased a dress from Charlie's that I was unsure about. Right before paying, I asked the employee who rang me up if I could return the dress if I have second thoughts. She said "Yes, as long as it's within 14 days with tags attached." After trying the dress on at home, I decided against it. When I tried to return it today, I was told by the employees that the dress was not returnable. I explained that I was told otherwise, but all they did was repetitively point to a sign stating "no returns." I was never told that the dress would be final sale when I asked the day before. Sure there was a sign, but I only thought to ask rather than read about their policies. After being told the wrong return information, and them not willing to give me any sort of return, I'm very turned off and will not shop at Charlie's again. For the amount of money I have spent at Charlie's in the past, I would expect much better customer service.

BEWARE OF CHARLIE'S JEANS: I bought a pair of $240 jeans from Charlie's Jeans. After I got home and tried them on, I realized they were a little to big so I returned to the store and asked to exchange them for a smaller size. I had the receipt and tags and had only had the jeans for one week. The salesperson refused to exchange them as she said I had washed the jeans (which was not the case). When I told her that I had not washed the jeans, she continued to argue with me. I then asked to speak with the person in charge so they called Sebastian (who I was later told was the owner). Right after they had called him, Sebastian walked in and began screaming (in front of all the customer and employees ). He stated to the employees "If you ever f___ing call me again regarding a customer issue, I will fire your as__ , this is what I pay you to handle" . He then started walking out of the store. I said "Excuse me Sir" numerous times and he ignored me and continued to walk out of the store. I have never seen anything like this before!!! After seeing Sebastian, I then understood why his employees acted the way they did. If the owner is this way, I am sure he teaches his employee to act the same way. They would not exchange the jeans. They may be good at helping you find a pair of jeans, but if you have a problem or need to return or exchange they will make it very difficult and do everything not to accomodate you. I have told numeorus people of my experience with Charlie's Jeans and I am finding out alot of people have had the same problem with them. I will never shop here again. Next time I will buy the jeans from Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus as I have never had a problem with returns at either of these stores. I have contacted the news stations to see if they can do a segment on the customer service issues (or lack thereof) related to Charlie"s Jeans since so many people have had similiar experiences.

The sales reps in Charlie's Jeans really know what they're doing! I have so much trouble finding jeans, and usually leave a store discouraged...this experience was completely different. Make sure to take them up on their offer for help finding jeans because they really know what they are doing. This is an amazing place to shop if you are looking for designer jeans. I highly reccommend!

I joined this site just so I could write a glowing review for Charlie's. Have been there several times for myself and others. While Sebastien is definitely the best, I've worked with two different girls on other occassions, both of whom nail it on the head within a few pairs. They've just opened a new location, right across the street from their old one (I think it's 233 Market)--much larger space filled with tons of great stuff. When you're spending this kind of money for jeans, you want the best fit. And that's what you get at Charlie's. I'm 5' and not a twig, but they always manage to find a pair that looks great on me. And affordable same or next-day alterations are a HUGE plus, original hem reattached. I don't go anywhere else for jeans.

I have gotten jeans from this store before. This time I bought a pair and said I wanted them tailored. I called the store 20 mins after I left and asked if I could cancel the tailoring and return the jeans. Both people I talked to said that the jeans were already going to the tailor and they couldn't do anything else for me. I then asked if they could call the tailor and stop the alteration. They refused and said there was nothing else they could do. I understand that I changed my mind, but they NEED TO WORK ON THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'm sure there was something they could have done for me if they had wanted to.

Cons: Value they put on their customers

I have been trying to find a pair of jeans that fit me properly for 2 years, with NO luck. I had read about Charlie's in a local magazine and figured I'd stop in to see what the buzz was about. I went in with just the intention of checking it out, but left with the best fitting pair of jeans I've ever had in my life. I walked in to some great customer service. They asked me what I was looking for in a cut and without even asking me my size they grab me two pairs to try on. And WOW, fit like a glove! I was in and out in 15 minutes. And with being 5'1 the available alteration was an added bonus. I would recommend Charlie's to anyone out there who has struggled to find the perfect pair of jeans!

Pros: Great fit and great customer service

My boyfriend heard about this store on NBC News, and told me about it. On the news it stated that this place could find the best pair of jeans to fit your body. So I was interested to see if they really could. I went to the store for my first time, a few months ago. I walked in hoping to find the perfect jean and I did! Without telling the sales associate my size she picked out a pair that was perfect! I recently received two gift certificates and went up there on a saturday morning. Which is by far the best time to go. Plenty of parking on the side of the store with meters. I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes, 15 minutes tops with two pairs of jeans purchased. I bought a dark wash and a light wash for the spring/summer. The staff is extremely knowledgable and can pick out the perfect pair in any wash you want. The different denim wash's vary with price. I paid the extra $18 bucks for alterations since I am short ( 5'1 ) and it is worth it. You can simply have them measure you right there and then you can have them mailed right to your house! I have told all my friends about this place and I will return. Great experience every time I go! Who has time to try on jeans all day long? Go to this place be in and out!

Pros: knowledgable, and Friendly Staff! In and out of the Store Fast with the perfect Jeans!

Cons: The jeans are a little pricey $$ but so worth it!!

I have loved Charlie's and I have been annoyed by Charlie's. Depends on how busy they are and how cranky I am. Sebastian is, hands down, one of the most jeans-knowledgable people around, but sometimes I feel as though he's trying to convince me I should love jeans that I don't really love. These jeans are expensive (for me) so I don't want to buy anything I'm not completely thrilled with. I must say, my two favorite pairs of jeans have come from Charlie's. Go when they're not the busiest, dont' let anybody try to sway your opinion, and you'll find jeans that fit better than any you've ever had.

Pros: incredible variety

Cons: expensive!

Charlie's is outstanding. I wandered in there once and haven't been disappointed at all in the dozens of times I've been back. The main reason is Sebastian who- believe those other reviews- looks at you and hands you the jeans you've been looking for in your size. And then the other 10 pairs you've been looking for. I brought my friend who lives in NYC to Charlie's when she was visiting. She got hooked and now comes down all the way from NYC with a few of her friends just to go jean shopping. Philly 1/ NYC 0. Try it! Ask for help! You'll see!

Pros: Sebastian- the others just aren't the jeans guru.

Cons: Feeds your jean addiction.

It's a terrible shame that one reviewer didn't have the greatest experience here, but I think that she may not have been in the right place for her tastes. Charlie's has an incredible selection of the latest brands and styles, and the owner is like a jean magician. Just by looking me over, he knew my size and handed me four pairs of different styles from different makers (based on what I said I liked) that fit me LIKE A GLOVE. The hardest part was deciding which pair to get. I also asked about having the jeans hemmed because they were a little long, but the owner told me honestly that, if I wear heels, I wouldn't need it. Again, he was right, and saved me money he could easily have charged me. If you do need alterations, as one of my girlfriends did, their hems are IDENTICAL to the seams that are on the jeans and are completely imperceptible (which is a big concern if you're spending this much for a pair). I LOVE CHARLIE'S!!!

Pros: Best spot to find jeans that seem like they were made just for you.

Cons: Expensive, but really, really worth it.
