Never a Cover & Always a Great Time
by buttercupae at Citysearch
Drinker's Tavern is the type of place that you can fit in no matter what you're wearing or who you're hanging out with. The drinks are super cheap and they have specials that go all night instead of just during happy hour. The downstairs is a hidden hot-spot with a DJ and seperate bar!! Shawn the bartender breaths fire and his performance is always a nightly highlight plus he's super friendly. This place makes it worth going to Old City!!
- Pros: Cheap Drinks & great atmosphere
Great for your wallet
by acd1110 at Citysearch
I went to Drinker's Tavern for the first time last weekend and had an awesome time! The place has such a laid-back attitude and such great prices on drinks that I didn't even spend half of what I normally would on a night out and no cover. And it is the only bar I have gone to that offered 40s!! We just stopped in to meet up with friends for a little but ended up staying all night. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the Old City area!
Drinker's Rocks!

Drinker's Tavern is definately a place to hang out with your friends along with a friendly, fun crowd. Where else can you shot gun beers and buy a round of shots for the bar for $30?!! Me and my boys are here almost every weekend. Drinks are so cheap its unreal sometimes and the bartenders are hilarious. This place rocks!
Classy, casual bar with inexpensive libations adds to the nightlife in Old City.

In Short
Stained glass over the entryway sets an old-fashioned tone, while candles and sconces cast soft light over wood-paneled walls, a stamped tin ceiling and copper tabletops. A few small tables line one wall while three booths line the bar-side of the room. Both are routinely filled with students and recent graduates drinking $2.50 Pabst. Pool tables and dartboards provide other amusements.
Love the jukebox and prices
by lizzard331 at Citysearch
This is a place to hang out with all your friends and know everyone will enjoy it! Drinker's is always a lively crowd ready to party and enjoy the night! Good music is always going and the prices can't be beat. And where else do you get to shotgun a beer or drink a 40?!
- Pros: Prices, atmosphere, music
- Cons: None
grungy college bar feel
by phillysportsfan at Citysearch
not pretentious like the other bars in old city, but if its the grungy college bar you missed, this is the place for you, you can even wear your phillies shirts in there after the game. Its better then HEAT night club, where my friend (local celebrity) hot his new shirt wet from a broken beer bottle fight-dry cleaning bill pending.

Drinkers at 19th and Chestnut is better!!!
by cruefan at Citysearch
Both bars are great, but the bar staff and music selection at the 19th and Chestnut Drinkers totally rock! It's close to everything and parking is easier than old city.....
STILL THE BEST DAMN BAR IN OLD CITY
by haley22 at Citysearch
Drinker's Tavern has been receiveing quite a bit of attention in Old City. Is it the $1 Ripcords? The $2 Jager shots? How about the $2 Bud, & PBR? $3 Pitchers daily? It is by far one of the chillest places in Old City, a place where cheap drinks flow freely, a killer Rock N' Roll jukebox pumps out favourites, and bartenders have both flair and personality. My weakness is Jack Daniels, something I find plenty of when I visit this respite. I am also terribly fond of the inviting hum of the Jager machine. Palmer rocks, Sean cracks me up and Carla ia a doll. These bartenders know how to promote a good time. I am happy to see that they have not sold out to the Old City "too cool for you" attitude. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: cheap drinks, great staff, cool crowd
- Cons: parking
Heed the warning: DRINKER'S
by euRC51 at Citysearch
Never has a bar in Philly been so aptly named. However, it could be even more appropriately named: Riffraff; Obliterated Frat Boys; or Sloppy, Stumbling Drunk Girl. For most of us, the sight of a loud and obnoxious drunk guy causing a scene in public is rare since we left college. At Drinker's Taver, it is the norm, and they don't apologize for it, which is the one redeeming quality of the place. The place sells PBR in the can for the expressed purpose of "shot-gunning" them. A round of for the bar is a mere $30. And, if you a skilled enough to sink a quarter in a top shelf bucket behind the bar, the bar gets a round of beers. So, like the name says, this place is for Drinkers - don't say you weren't warned.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: The clientele, Loud, Crowded
