Was alright, a bit pricey.

I went to Mixto tonight with a friend and we were pretty excited because we've heard good things about this restaurant and we wanted to go somewhere new for us.

I was a bit disappointed that the food was a bit pricey (seriously, $4.5 for TWO empanadas is ridiculous). But the entrées were delicious. I highly recommend the chicken with cheddar sauce dish. It was amazing! And I love that you get a small bit of rice and black bean soup on the side. I was completely stuffed after the chicken though!

The poor thing about this restaurant was the service. We were ignored by our waiter multiple times and he NEVER checked up on us to see how we were doing (despite the fact he was only a few feet away). It was not a busy night either. We actually decided to tip the guy who constantly refilled our glasses with water. He was very polite and friendly. Even though he was not our waiter, we felt he sure deserved it more than ours did. He was rude and distant and just talked to the bartender all night even though we were only a few feet away. Simple things such as soda refills and common courtesy really isn't to be taken for granted.

Good food + Great Atmosphere

Always a fun place to hang out and enjoy good food. Try their skirt steak f you haven't done so yet. You will love it!

Great Food...Great Place

Now i've read alot of the reviews and was hesitant to try the establishment. I must say I haven't had that good of a time, a meal or server in some time. I am latina and the food is true to the culture. The drinks well made and the food was awesome. The only complaint I had was the desert. Not that great. Everything else was on the up and up. Try it out , you wont be disappointed!!!!

great food, cute spot, cute staff

the food was excellent (best smoothie i've ever had!), and the portions were great (i hate these restaurants that give you a serving that wouldn't fill an infant) and the prices reasonable. the staff were all cute and latino, adding to the overall vibe of the place. outdoor seating available, and the front is landscaped very nicely. good for a date spot or anytime. perfect location right off of broad street!

Great ambiance, poor service

I have been to Mixto many times, and have brought many out of town friends and family there. But last night was a real disappointment and embarrassment!!! I brought 5 out of town co-workers to Mixto for drinks and dinner after telling them how wonderful it was. Our waiter was really poor and not sorry at all for any of his mistakes. He brought 2 of us the wrong drink on 2 separate occasions, and expected us to accept it!! We had to persuade him to give us what we wanted! The wait for food was really long, even with very few people in the restaurant. When all but one entree came out, my co-worker finally got up to ask the hostess what the problem was. He then brought her the salad without dressing, and then brought her the wrong dressing. We asked to have the alcohol on a separate bill (our company doesn't pay for alcohol); he said "yes" but didn't deliver. The really BAD part of this is....because we had a party of 6, the tip was included--he got a $22 tip for doing nothing. I am calling Mixto now to voice my complaint. Not going back there again!

Simply the best!!

I went to mixto about 2 weeks ago, have to say I Loved their service the hostes was so friendly and sweet she made me and my friends feel welcomed and comfortable, right away she seated us. The food was exellent the mango mojito was the best mojito i ever tried. I have to say i loved the food, drinks and the super friendly staff, did i mention the restaurant is beautiful! its bright and live its just makes you feel really good when walking in (nice craftsmanship)

Mixto is a Beautiful Restaurant; I love the whole theme and the unique wood structure. The environment is great and friendly and the music is very relaxing. We went for a very special reason to celebrate my parents 25th year Anniversary we had about 10 people at our table. We asked prior to making our reservation if we could have a pink table cloth on the table where we would all be sitting because that?s my mother?s favorite color. The manager had no problem changing it from white to pink in honor of my mother. It was a surprise dinner for my parents and I wanted everything to be perfect! Plus, the food and drinks were very good and everyone there was soooo nice! The service is unbelievably terrific and the food and drinks are reasonably affordable. I've been coming to Mixto for at least a year or so and I would definitely go back again and recommend it to everyone!

the best food and drink

I've been going to Mixto for a couple years now and can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. I have been to the restaurant for lunches, brunches, dinners and drinks. The menu for any given meal has something for everyone to love. I love that they recently added eggs benedict to their menu. Now I don't have to go all the way to Sabrina's for one of my favorite brunch items! Mixto also has the BEST mojitos in town (taste, price and serving size), hands down!! I just went to alma de cuba over the weekend and wasn't impressed with theirs at all, not to mention the little rocks glass it was served in and charged me $10.

I would highly recommend Mixto to anyone.
