I would have to disagree with the previous reviewers in terms of Rippert's services. I would say she can handle shortening slacks but sleeves and sewing a straight line are pretty difficult. I brought three jackets there for sleeve shortening. The sleeves on 2 jackets on the right side are longer than the left side. None of the inside edges were tucked under or finished. One jacket's sleeves that needed some detailing were quite butchered and when I brought them back, she claimed that she attempted to fix them but there was no difference. On one jacket's sleeves, the detailing is in a very conspicuous place and the thread line came back very uneven. These are fairly expensive jackets and I will NEVER go back to her again.
Pros: can shorten slacks or pants
Cons: don't bring your jackets for sleeve shortening

Kathy does a great job on all of the drycleaning and alterations that I bring to her. And she speaks english-unlike many other tailors and drycleaners in town.

I have been going to Ripperts for years, and Kathy never disappoints. I tried not to have too high expectations for the latest bridesmaid dress that I took to her because it was really tight, there was barely any material to be let out, and she was under a huge time cruch, but she worked her magic and made me a perfect-fitting dress. I am amazed at how beautiful it turned out!
Pros: expert skills, great service, 100% reasonable prices

Rippert's provides exceptional service and attention to detail. Kathy has been fitting my suits for work for about 5 years now and she does a wonderful job- I also take my dry cleaning to her every week. Last year she altered all of my bridesmaid's dresses for my wedding and some of them needed extensive work. Everyone's dress ended up being perfect. Kathy is a pleasure to deal with - I don't know what I would do without her!
Pros: Friendly, Expert work
