We've gone to this restaurant for a number of years, usually for special occasions with groups of friends. This time, it was a different experience.

The menu has no vegetarian entrees listed ; though they do note they have one upon request. At least I knew you could get a nice chile rellenos.

For a Mexican restaurant, the spice was missing. We felt like they're losing their authenticity to catering to a blander, common palette. The tilapia was nice, but lacked lemon. The rice was bland and served with steamed broccoli. The salad lacked seasoning too! The chicken mole got thumbs up, but the steaks were average. The other night we weren't even impressed with magaritas as normally we were.

I don't know if the management or chefs have changed, but it's not the same "wow" we used to have for it. (Ambiance is the same - great!)

I love Mexican food and have dined in numerous Mexican restaurants, here and in Mexico. We dined here a year ago and enjoyed it, especially the free margaritas. On our recent visit, we were very dissapointed, The prices are higher, and the portions smaller and not as tasty. The piece of red sanpper was very small for a $21 entree, and the accompanying vegetables were bland. The "Eduardo" sauce on the fish was nothing but some stewed tomatoes with some green olives, and no distanct taste. The chicken mole was unremarkable. The rice was tasteless and the refried beans tasted burnt. The mole sauce was watery, and there wasn't much of it. When we asked for more, we were served about 2 spoonfulls and were charged extra! That was insulting, considering the price of the entrees. Wait staff is pleasant and competent. Overall, a disapointing experience.

  • Pros: Pleasant atmosphere and good staff. Free margaritas.
  • Cons: Overpriced. Food is mediocre.

The whole red snapper is fantastic. I go there at least once a week! The food is great along with the service and the music. It is a BYOB but they give away the best Maragritas! This is a family restaurant and a great place to go on the weekends or during the week. This is definatly my favorite mexican restauarnt!

  • Pros: food
  • Cons: the wait on the weekends.

This is one of those easily passed places but is becoming the talk of Montco and the surrounding areas. I was recently in Cancun and went to most 'off the beaten path' places and this is certainly comparable. The food is excellent and the service and staff is great. They make you feel like you are at a block party. Weekends the place is jumping. Don't go if you want a burrito ... go for authentic Mexican cuisine. Although it is a BYOB, the margaritas are amazing!!!

  • Pros: Food, Ambience, Atmosphere, Complimentary Margaritas
  • Cons: Crowded on weekends, but worth the wait

The food at this resturant is fantastic. I had the whole red snapper an it was one of the best fish dishes I have had in a while. My companions had equally tasty dishes. The interior is quaint with some beutiful original artwork. The wait staff are extremely friendly and kid friendly. The made us feel at home right away.

Driving back and forth by this place for years I didn't even know it existed crammed in a tiny strip mall, but luckily by a recommendation I stubled upon this little gem. The dining area is small and gets very crowded on the weekends, so I would suggest reservations (but they will only take them for a party of 6+).

The added benefit of BYOB and free margaritas make the overall price of the food easier to swallow, and truely the margaritas are good. The food is fantastic and there is such a variety of items to pick from that you shouldn't have a problem getting something you would enjoy. The portions are properly sized and with a group appetizer will leave plenty full.

It's a real treat and everyone I know has had similar comments about it.

  • Pros: Excellent Food, Free Margaritas, Variety of Items
  • Cons: Limited reservations, Tiny Dining Area

Sure, the margs are on the house and the wall paintings are pretty cool, but you'll pay and arm and a leg (or roughly same price of steak fajitas) for a VEGETARIAN dish consisting of a meager portion of completely bland green giant-esque veggies! The pathetic side of rice and beans had enough salt to season all of the food in a small country in the Middle East. Unlike most places that have an actual price list of menu items, this place denotes to "ask the waiter for a list of vegetarian dishes," which leaves you guessing at the price until the bill comes. Your best bet? Save your cash and hit up your local grocer's freezer.

  • Pros: Free Margaritas
  • Cons: Overpriced, Bland

The first time we visited Tamarindos, we thought perhaps we were in the wrong parking lot. The location, a meager rectangle within a tiny shopping center, looks more like it should hold a pizza-by-the-slice joint. Inside, however, the reduced lighting and the original artwork immediately signal that you are somewhere different.

But enough of that. This place is all about the FOOD. The menu is a fun selection of traditional Mexican fair with a distinct Yucatecan bias. This means Mexican flavorings with an interesting old European influence. I haven't heard the term "haute Mexican" yet, but if it applies anywhere, it applies here.

Especially good are the grilled fillet with chorizo and cheese sauce, the various shrimp dishes, and the salsa samper. Oh, and the margaritas are bottomless...and free.

The food is expensive, but absolutely worth it, and the staff is quite friendly.

  • Pros: Amazing food, Free margaritas, Inspired menu
  • Cons: Not cheap, Tiny dining room, Limited hours

If you're looking for something a little lest trendy than Coyote Crossing - here's the spot. They don't have a liquor license, but provide free margaritas. The food is fantastic - it's expensive enough not to be everyday, but not so expensive to make you blink.
