the best restaurant

by butthead1

This place is the most delicious place ever. I love the the Shrimp with the spicy suace. I came here last saturday night with my husband and kids. Even though we made a reservation we still had to wait but it was worth it. They said we had a 5 min wait but they really sat it like 2 seconds which was great. We had a young lady and she was so nice. She made the meal very lovely. The garlic bread was awesome and great. By the end of the meal we were so full we did not even had room for dessert but I promise next time I come we are going to get dessert. It was truly a great vistit.

A True Italian Restaurant

by KJL95

I love this place!!! They family is sooo nice and great. My favorite thing to eat is the gnoccchi with the rose sauce. The owner was one of the nicest person i have ever met she was so funny to, Her son was the one who sat us. he was so cute. he put own menus on the table and smiled then ran tell his sister( i think), our waitress that he was shy. This is now my favorite place to eat.

Not so good after all

by Dominic D

I have had decent basic pasta on one visit.

I have had raw chicken in a daily special on another visit. When I brought it to their attention we received a large dose of attitude that left us wondering how a restaurant like this can stay in business? We will not be returning.

  • Pros: Hostess
  • Cons: Inconsistent quality with attitude

A truely Fantastic Italian Ristorante

by LilChef

I am just passing thru the Lansdale Area as I live in New York State. I have eaten in many areas of our Great Country which includes many restaurants.

My visit to La Campagnola's was truely an experience for an area such as Lansdale. (again my traveling experience of cities) I was greeted courteously as I entered and shown to my table directly.

My waitress showed up within minutes to take my order for my beverage. She was all smiles and very courteous.

She returned with my beverage and asked if I was ready to order. I chose to look over the menu a few minutes longer. as the menu held several items of my liking and it was a difficult choice to decide.

I finally ordered the Vitolli Pramagina with a side of angel hair pasta. Veal being one of my most favorite meals. As I waited for my order I looked around the room at the many Bisque Figurines and Decor of the Country for which the Restaurant represents and the Italian Music make it all a very quaint atmosphere.

It was not long before my meal arrived and as my waitress set it before me. I took in the large portion of Veal on the plate. Had I ordered two portions of Veal !!!

Mama_mia the first bite and I knew that I would be entering this restaurant to my list of Fine Restaurants.

The prices are very very reasonable as a portion of Veal as was on my plate would cost $45.00 in other big cities.

I Truly recommend to anyone with Good Taste the La Campagnola Ristorante.

I am sorry, but at this point, I "MUST ADD" that the one, two and three star reviews which I have read concerning this Restaurant are Totally Unfair to the owners and workers here. I am appauled at those reviews.

Having stated my personal opinion I shall close here for the evening and bid you all Good Day.

And May God Bless.

Best Italian Food Money Can Buy!!!

by Marnie1212

We have dinner each week at La Campagnola. The food is amazing. We tried at least half of the menu and have always had a great experience. We take many of our friends there, and they are taking their friends there, too. The atmosphere provides itself as a true Italian treat unlike what any of the chain restaurants have to offer! The owners have been nothing but gracious and wonderful to us and have been willing to handle all of our requests. Try La Campagnola!! We did and we are hooked!!

  • Pros: Great people, fantastic service, outstanding food!!

raw chicken with attitude

by conlan2

This is my first resteraunt review but I cannot let this go. We went with 2 other couples looking for a nice night - no big expectations. After being seated when we ALL got there (even though it was half empty) we found our glasses were dirty - but hey we laughed it off and cleaned them with our napkins. There were other little things that were troubling but the biggest problem was that when my husband went to eat his 3rd bite of chickenfranksinatra it was RAW inside. We asked to see our waiter - he took it back without even an apology. 10 minutes later the hostess returned with the plate and the chicken "cooked". She did not apologize or say she was sorry. She did tell us that it was a thick piece of chicken like we should expect it. When asked to speak with the owner she informed us she WAS the owner. For about 10 minutes she argued with our table about it and when my husband said he would eat around it she said no forget it and took it back. He also told her he would not be paying for it. He was honestly scared he was going to get saminela poisining. Eventually her dad, the cook, came out. He got upset that we were questioning his cooking and even grabbed my husbands arm. Needless to say we didn't pay for that meal, we never got an apology and was never offered compensation - like hey how about a free dessert for everyone. Please DO NOT go to this restaurant and tell your friends not too also. We are contacting the Board of Health.

Great food at a great price!

by DOBI

We've been to this restaurant twice within the last three months, once with a large party and a reservation and once without, when it was just our small family. Both times, we were given courteous service (two different servers) and excellent food! The only thing that ruined our first experience were rude people who caused a scene! I would recommend this place to anyone, but if they are busy, you need to chill out and relax and give the waitstaff time .....the food is worth the wait!

  • Pros: Incredible Pasta Dishes
  • Cons: Often busy - go when you have time to relax and enjoy

La Campagnola is terrible

by jwitm7

The good service here ended with the Hostess, she did a great job taking our coats.

My wife and i were waiting for the rest of our party so we headed over to the bar and had to wait several minutes while the bar tender continued a conversation with an off duty staff member.

when the some of our party arrived they sat us and we proceed to wait approximately 15 minutes to receive a drink menu. once the rest of our party arrived we waited another 5 minutes and finally were given 2 drink menus, from our oafy waiter. The waiter, who had a fine demeanor was nice but his presentation of the specials was absolutely painful, he obviously has trouble memorizing.

Finally after another 10 minute wait 8 of our 9 members received menus and we had to chase down the next available waitstaff (the Sommelier) to get our 9th. This is a great chance to mention that the Sommelier was a moron. The wine we order was unavailable and when we asked to see a menu he preferred to suggest something from his copy of the menu. He also was unwilling to tell us the price of his recommended bottle. he said i was "$40ish", and as we tried 3 wines from his selection he continued to pass cynical comments referring to the experience as a "regular wine tasting".

the food was fine but would be great at 60% of their menu price. though the big complaint past the price was that my wife got a half portion of gnocchi and when the $17 plate arrived we all looked around for to see if there was a child in our party because the tiny portion was no bigger than kids bowl of macaroni and cheese.

all in all the decor is weak and out of date, the staff is terrible, except for the hostess, the food is fair but not for the price, and if you are looking to ruin a first date or wreak an anniversary this place is perfect.

Don't ever go here. and expect to wait a long long time for everything and anything.

DO NOT EAT HERE

by abby2570

Absolutely horrible! The waitress was the rudest we've ever encountered. We did not receive what we ordered and we were told "too bad, we're out of scallops" when we questioned them further about compensating us for not getting what we ordered the waitress said "we're out, what do you want us to do...go to the acme" the owner then came out & told us to leave if we didn't like it. Oh, we also waited over an hour for the food.
