Worst service ont the Main Line
by anneofmalvern
One of the worst dining experiences ever. Food was not authentic Greek as I have experienced in other restaurants and the menu was limited. No kebabs. Pita bread was not good. Extremely loud and tables far too close together for enjoyable conversation. Worst part was the rude and arrogant maitre'd who was invested only in rushing us to turn a table augmented by the incompetent waitress. I left furious and insulted.
- Pros: Decent food
- Cons: arrogant service
Excellent takeout
by NotARealName
We get takeout from here all the time. Excellent. Take cash - they do not accept credit cards. If I would ask for anything I would ask them to increase the number of offerings on thier menu. The few things on the menu are all great - if there were more things I would try them all.
Good eats.

This is a great restaurant for the burbs. The food and service has always been good. I have been there 10+ times over the last 5 years and never had a problem. They also do takeout which is always handy. The large greek salads are hugemongeous. I am a healthy eater but I don't think I have finished one yet. It is small and cozy but hard surfaces can make it rather loud if its busy w/ the right kind of people. Most of the staff has been there for awhile and nows the food well. The seats by the window are very nice so that you can catch some remaining sunshine w/ dinner. The restaurant is always clean and well kept.
The gyros are a good cheap treat and all the meat dishes are very good. The scallops that they have are great they always taste fresh and the lemon and garlic is to die for. Their greek appetizers are fun to sample and the calamari is always fresh and lightly battered delicious w/ fresh lemon. Yum.
THIS RESTAURANT IS CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RESTAURANT INFO IS WRONG. CASH ONLY.
Enjoy!
Breezy Greek BYOB gives Main Liners a nice taste of the isles.
by Contributor
In Short
This intimate BYOB sits a block from Lancaster Avenue, just a stone's thro from the Bryn Mawr train station. The interior consists of royal blue tablecloths and tiles that stand out against whitewashed walls. Dishes like egg and lemon soup with orzo, or pungent, creamy feta and Kalamata olives contrast flavors in minimalist fashion. Don't miss light and citrusy taramasalta (also known as Greek caviar)--wonderful upon wedges of homemade pita, warm from the grill.
- Pros: nice atmosphere
- Cons: kitchen can be slow
No kids under 5 allowed???
by rharris55555
Arrived at 7:30 on a WEDNESDAY evening (with our 11 month old child in a car seat) and was told they would not serve us as they don't allow children under 5! If they were in Center City, I might be a bit more understanding, but the Mainline is NOTHING BUT FAMILIES! On top of it, the baby was asleep! To top it all off, the restaurant was so loud, nobody would even hear the baby if she did cry. Stupid policy from some obviously "not so bright" owners!
Little Gem on the Main Line
by abessellieu
I ate here for the 3rd time a few weeks ago. Every time our food has been delicious, we have been seated promptly and the service was attentive. I would say try the hummus, try the lamb, try the fish, but really - everything I had and everything everyone at my table had was delicious!. The only down side is the slightly crowded conditions, but for some (myself included) that is part of the charm.
- Pros: great food, location/parking, no small children
- Cons: slightly crowed, no large groups, no small children
Worst dining experience of my life!!!
by mtzoanos
Waiter's words:
"We need this table for another party. I am afraid we can't serve you dessert."
I've never been asked to leave a restaurant in the middle of dinner. Probably the worst dining experience of my life. Diner Beware!
Good deal for good food
by froggegyrl
I enjoyed a nice relaxed meal at Lourdas. Everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was upbeat and friendly. The service was polite and efficent. I would recommend reservations on a weekend, but it is well worth any wait you might have. The food is good greek fare, with specials that are yummy! I had the sea scallops and they were perfect. The appetizers were a great size to share and good.
- Pros: price, food
- Cons: , noise
A delicious taste of Greece
by Dinaki
After hearing so much about Lourdas, my date and I decided to try it and we were more than impressed by the delicious fresh fish and yummy appetizers. Service was friendly and the room was very pretty. Family restaurant and plenty of free parking. Worth the trip! (Make a reservation first, though)
False advertising

they say they specialize in fresh seafood. During our visit there was only one seafood entree and it came with it's face on.
