Best Burgers In Fairmount and More!!
by jackintown
I love this place and its staff. The food is great from the appetizers to the full entrees. Great place to go and have a late bite - they serve food until 1 a.m. every night. Love to sit at the bar and have a few beers or a cocktail ( the beer list is solid... not Monk's, but far better than average). The burger is the best in Fairmount, by far. I don't care what Philly Magazine says. And to respond to the review that said the service was snooty and sarcastic - I love the bartenders at Aspen, and if the bartender was sarcastic or "snooty" to you... you probably did something to deserve it. Rob's a good bartender and a pretty nice guy from what I've seen. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed bar atmoshere to enjoy a nice meal and some good conversation.
- Pros: Great beer list. Good Food. Open Late
- Cons: Parking.
Fantastic!!!

This place is fantastic, from happy hour to the wee hours, Aspen is everything a neighborhood could ask for. The service, both behind the bar and at the tables, is always quality and usually carries a polite greeting and smile. Great food, great beer list and an average wine list are sure to provide most people needs. If you haven't tried it, you should.
Great food, friendly service, good crowd, low prices

We stopped in after a Friday evening at the Art Museum for a light meal. Wow. I ordered the soup special, crab cake sandwich, and could not say no to the mac and cheese. So much for the light meal. The service was great, and the food was delectable, especially the fries and mac and cheese. It's my new favorite place in the neighborhood. Street parking is problematic, but we just walked.
- Pros: Food, atmosphere, service, crowd
- Cons: Street parking (if you drive)
Snooty Service

Aspen has great food, especially late night. If you plan on having a good time, don't go there on a Monday night, because it is frowned upon. I used to frequented Aspen after work with a co-worker of mine every Monday night for about 3 months. The food was fantastic, but the service was NOT very personable, even up until the last time we went there. We both work at a neighborhood bar and recognize people who pop their faces in on a regular bases, we even know their names. We also do not loudly throw FITS about people in their range of hearing, ESPECIALLY if they are a part of a regulars party. So if you want to feel unwelcome go to Aspen on a monday night.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Sarcastic snooty bartender
Great late night food!

I've been in Philadelphia for a year now and live in the Art Museum area. Finding late night food in this city is tough...especially if you want *good* late night food. I went to Aspen for dinner one night, sat in the bar area, and LOVED it. The service is fantastic, the food superb, the music/atmosphere is great. They have an extensive beer list, televisions, what more could one ask for? I have yet to try the entrees, only the pub fare, but the menu looks amazing! Scallops, Crab Cakes, Filet, etc. Definitely stop by Aspen!!! It's a must!
- Pros: Food, serive, atmosphere
- Cons: Parking might be tough with it being a neighborhood place but I walk....
wonderful place!

I love Aspen. I took my dad here recently on Father's Day and he loved it. I've been here many times myself and I too love it. We had the best calamari I've ever tasted; crab cakes and the filet mignon are delicious too. The service is always prompt and attentive, great ambience. This place is great for special occasions, dates or just a casual drink at the bar.
- Pros: ambience, nice bar and dining area in the back, good crowd
- Cons: parking can be difficult on the weekends
Cozy two-room Fairmount tavern with solid pub fare.

The Scene
The ambiance is relaxed, with a brick-walled pub and petite dining room. Windows trimmed in white lights create a romantic feel, offset by mismatched paintings and TV sets tuned to sports. The menu offers American cuisine, from wings to steaks. A creative choice would be the salad and pork tenderloin stuffed with goat cheese is a solid choice, but the staples are best: you can't go wrong with a burger and fries.

This is a hidden gem in the Art museum area. The food in the restaurant is excellent, the service very friendly. We had the filet mignon and the tuna, both were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant.
charming and delicious

everything we ordered was perfectly prepared--the filet mignon was very large, the vegetables very fresh, and everything tasted like there was care and thought put into dish--- from spices to accompaniments. I would reccomend this restaurant for couples or small groups of friends.
- Pros: atmosphere, food, quality
- Cons: limited menu
go to this restaurant!

I recently went to Aspen with my family for my birthday dinner. Despite their small size, they nicely accomodated our party of five. The drinks, wine, and food were excellent. I recommend the almond crusted calamari... yumm!
Dessert was great too, I had the banana chocolate cake and the server put a candle in it for me.
- Pros: food, service
