Bernadette ROCKS!!!!

I'm kinda new to the area so I had no idea where to go in the city for a haircut until I saw this place across from Superfresh. I asked around and got nothing but 2 thumbs up so I called for an appointment and booked Bernadette. Never being a fashion expert, I asked her what kind of haircut would look good on my head. She new exactly what to do and told me how she thought the hair would compliment my facial features and even suggested the right type of prouct and shampoo to use as well as styling tips I never would have thought of on my own. She even told me ideas for what we could to in the future, like growing my hair out or possibly relaxing it. She took great care of me and I couldn't wait to go out and make a great first impression on the town thanks to her. I have all the confidence in the world that I know I look good. Kelly gave a great shampoo and massage and John, Kyle, Faith and Jen all have great attitudes and personalities to make the whole visit top notch. And you can't beat the prices considering the location. Ask for BERNADETTE!!!!

Hairiffic

Salon at 5th has a great vibe, is not pretentious, and has a friendly staff - and Kyle (the owner) is great. I have been going to Faith for a while and I am always happy with the way she cuts and styles my hair. Faith makes lots of suggestions, and is proud of her work. She is really pleasant, listens to what you want, and offers up some cool chit-chat along the way.

Best Stylist in Philly

My mom is a stylist, and has cut my hair my whole life. After I moved to Philadelphia I became tired of having to drive an hour and a half for a haircut, and decided it was time to find someone local. I tried a few salons, and after each haircut found myself putting it in a pony tail and waiting anxiously for it to grow out. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended I make an appointment with John at Salon @ 5th. As you can imagine I was a nervous wreck going in, not having ever had a good experience anywhere other than my mom's kitchen. John calmed all of my nerves, listened to what I wanted and had great ideas to enhance my style. I've been going to John for a year and a half now, and would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Now my hair appointments are comfortable and relaxing, instead of nerve wracking and disappointing. Everytime I walk out of Salon @ 5th I feel fabulous! I recently moved out of the city and the drive to see John is well worth it - he's definitely the best!

Comfortably Chic Experience

As you walk into the salon you are greeted by the warm staff and the amazingly clean and modern decor. The salon offers all the trendy styles as others in the city but in addition an atmosphere comfortable for everyone. I have been at Salon at 5th for three years and I should do their PR. Mostly because I believe it can be a life changing experience to be happy with your appearance. I know it sounds dramatic but I think all men and women need and want a change every once in awhile so instead of changing your partner just get a fresh hairdo :)

John Brown is my stylist and I have recruited friend after friend to join his loyal posse. He is very talented and charming. His skill set is beyond any hair professional where he can take suggestions or he can do what his does best "stylist's choice". I have my haircut and styled everytime by his suggestion and EVERYTIME people rave about it. It says a lot about him that he knows how to be trendy but also apropriate for your face shape.

Worth the WAIT!!!!

I have been searching for a local salon in my area for a few months and stumbled across salon @ 5th. At first I was a little nervous about trying out a new salon but it was a new year so what the heck. I didn't make an appointment and just decided to walk on in. The staff member that greeting me was very friendly...there was not time right then to get a cut which was ok and partly my fault for not calling ahead. I was asked to come back later that afternoon. When I returned, I was greeted by John. He was very friendly and professional. John had a great idea for a new style and knew how to work with my hair. I have been to numerous salons in CC but no one has taken the time to sit with me and really talk about my hair like John did. One of the best parts of a hair cut is the blow-out and he definitely follows through, I felt so good. I can not wait to go back!!

Salon @ 5th provides affordable cuts, coloring, and styles for men and women, provided by a courteous staff, in a friendly atmosphere. Bernadette in particular really takes her time, and listens to her customers when it comes to what they want in a haircut. And then she delivers!

Salon @ 5th - highly recommended!

After traveling to NJ for years to have my hair done, I got tired of the trek over there and opted for a salon closer to home. My first try was Salon@5th and it was a pleasant surprise. I was used to going to a "factory-like" setting in NJ where they churned people through in a loud, bright place and it wasn't until after I experienced Salon@5th, I realized what a true salon experience is - relaxing and calm. Everyone at Salon@5th knows my name, waves hi as I pass by on my way to the gym or Superfresh, and has welcomed 3 of my best girlfriends as new clients. Bernadette currently does my hair but I would trust anyone there - you won't be disappointed!

GREAT CUT EVERY TIME!!

I have been going to Salon @5th for years. I have been a clients of John's since he first began cutting hair. I think I was actually his first client. I am VERY picky and probably drive him crazy sometimes but John never fails, he always gives me a great cut!! John is always professional, he listens to what I am looking for, and I always leave happy. If you are looking for a great cut and/or color go see John at Salon @ 5th!! The rest of the staff is also great. They are all friendly and the atmosphere at the salon is very easy going and comfortable.

Great Salon!!

After going to the same place outside of the city for the past few years, I came to Salon at 5th on a friend's suggestion and would without a doubt recommend it to anyone. After getting a few great cuts from Bernadette, I decided to go for highlights for the first time and was extremely happy with them and just had them done again recently. (Bernadette also takes the time to do an awesome blowout!!)

Aside from the actual services, I'm always warmly welcomed, offered a drink and feel very comfortable in the salon. A great place and I'm so happy to not have to trek out of the city anymore!

johns the best

i have been coming to salon @ 5th for over a year now and i wouldn't change it for the world. I go to John and he is very experienced in his work. I have very damaged and unruly hair and he nursed it back to health. i am a picky girl but i no i can put my faith and trust in john knowing it will look fantastic. He really listens to me and gives e exactly what i want. The staff is great, very welcoming and friendly. i couldn't picture myself going anywhere else. If your looking for a salon with fun atmosphere, place that serves wine, and an over all great experience every time you go. Go see John at Salon @ 5th and u sure will be the happiest girl with the best looking hair in the city.

Most Fabulous Salon in Philadelphia

Salon at 5th is by far and away, hands down, the best salon in Philadelphia. Not only is the staff professional, but insanely cool. Going to the salon is usually such a drag, but not when John or Bernadette are responsible for you hair. Whether you just need a quick blow-out, a serious haircut, or a full head of color, Salon at 5th is the place to be. I am extremely particular about my hair and would not trust another soul besides Bernadette or John, and never leave the salon less than thrilled with the results. Over the years I have tried several different colors and styles, and let me tell you that the Salon at 5th is the place to be. I have been to salons in Boston, New York, Chicago, Denver and even Rome, but have never been as satisfied with the outcome as I am when Bern or John has done my hair. The atmosphere is hip and fun. The staff make you feel at home, and I always have a blast whether it is a 30 minute wash and blow-dry, or a four hour hardcore color session...I love Bernadette, John and Kyle! Want to try a new style or color, or just keep your regular cut? Bernadette or John are the stylists to ask for. Not only will the staff ensure that you are more than 100% satisfied with the results, but will also make sure that you have a comfortable and fun visit during your time at the Salon at 5th. The chairs are comfortable and the products are always the newest items to arrive on the shelves. Redken all the way! Curly, straight, wavy, blonde. brown, black, red, or blue hair, not matter what texture or color you hair is, Bernadette and John will without a doubt handle your hair in a proper, timely and efficient manner that will ensure you leave a happy client. The salon is also reasonably priced and in a convenient location, parking is always available. I would not switch hair stylists if you paid me, thats how much I love and trust Bernadette and John's ability and creativity.You guys rock! I highly recommend trying the Salon at 5th, you will not regret it!
