I bought my gown there after trying on about 35 boring, heavy satin gowns at other bridal salons. Maria chooses incredibly unique gowns for people that appreciate couture style; and you don't have to pay couture prices. She is so warm and smart and kind and the staff that does the alterations fuss at you and speak in Greek with pins in their mouth, giving the whole thing a very old world feel. Going there is always a pleasure; I'd recommend it to anyone.

Due to disastrous alterations at another bridal shop, my original wedding gown was completely ruined. I went to Maria Romia six weeks before my wedding, found the perfect dress, and had an extremely enjoyable experience throughout the entire alteration process. Even though I bought a discontinued dress at a very discounted price, Maria and her entire staff treated me like a princess every time I was there. In addition, the alterations were perfect!
Pros: Talented, friendly, accomodating

I recently went to Maria Romia and didn't find them rude at all. Yes, you have to ring the doorbell to get in, but I didn't find that a problem. They have many dresses that you won't see at other shops and if you like them you'll love the shop. They weren't really my thing, but I did find one dress there that I loved and the saleswoman actually wrote down the designer, style number and price for me (without me having to ask), which is more than you'll find a lot of places. If you're looking for a wedding dress it's definitely worth a look.
Pros: Individual attention
Cons: Small dressing rooms

I went into Maria Romia for a bit just to look at a single piece I had had my eye on for a bit. I saw plenty of people in the shoppe, I saw them looking at me, but they took forever to open the LOCKED door. Finally, when the lady got to me, and everyone else in the store looked at me as if I wasn't rich enough to be in there, I asked to see the piece. They didn't know the price and had to go "look it up" which took about 15 minutes or more. FINALLY when she got back, she told me a price WAY outrageous for what It was. I felt very unwelcome. Has potential, but seems like you will only be respected if you LOOK like you have a big wallet.
Pros: nice atmosphere, nice looking stuff
Cons: rude saleslady, overpriced, long wait for service
