WORST. SERVICE. EVER.
by Dogluvr134
Wow- really? what's with all the hype- I have been to all Chickie n Petes locations and asside from the occasional good service at Robbins...I always have terrible service!! The waitress takes your order about 20 minutes after you are seated (god forbid 1 person in your party is stuck at the light you need to wait for them to be seated..what a joke!), then NEVER returns! When eating thoes salty crab fries you need something to drink to wash it down...I sucked on an ice cube for a half an hour! the are complete idoits! I myself have been in the service industry and never stiff on the tip but it burns me to even tip the usual %- Stop throwing food onto my table and never returing until you wanna get paid!- I may sound disgruntled but I can assure you I am not the only one who has had this happend to them
Pros: nothing really
- Pros: NOTHING
- Cons: EVERYTHING!
Servers: Anywhere But Here
by GettingOut
As a former server I can say that you are right in your assumptions. There are 3 UNPAID days of training. The first day I was there they had me follow around "the best" server they had there. She pawned me on to her tables, and basically sat back and relaxed. After running around like an idiot, I received absolutely no tips or pay for working 10 hours. Let me say this again, the "training" is UNPAID. Then they charged me $50 for the uniform and $35 for shoes. I was racking up a tab, before I even saw any money from working! There are no people of color, as you say, and many of the staff in NE Philly make sure of it. The male servers act like they are gods and say the most disgusting sexual comments to the female servers. A bartender even grabbed my chest. If you were wondering why your server didn't give you any silverware or plates, its because management frowns on it. The kitchen manager that works Sunday mornings is something you have to see for yourself. He yells at everyone else for having "safety violations" and yet he doesn't wear a hat or gloves. He eats and picks at the food as it is made, and then serves it to you for dinner. The place has crabs and c-roacccches! I could not take any more of the abuse from this place, and so I got out.
- Pros: none
- Cons: management, hostile work environment, employees
worst service ever
by RosalieJ
The worst service I've ever had, I have been there 2 times and won't ever go back. the foods not great but ok. If you want to feel like the waiter is doing you a favor, this is the place to go. The bar-tender named Dave is the rudest ever he shouldn't work there if he does not know how to use the people skill, acts as if he's doing you a favor when serving. It's a shame when people aren't happy with their job and take it out on the patrons. This place needs a class on how to treat their guests.
Mediocre Seafood and Bad Service
by TDM19149
I have been several times and each time was not a good experience. The food is nothing to talk about and the service is even worse. I am a person of color and not once have I seen another person serving, bartending or hosting and forget managing. I was there this past Saturday and to my surprise they had employed a person of color to work as the bathroom attendant. Is that all we are fit to do in this establishment? I have not been in the kitchen but maybe they have some in the back too. I also met someone of color who was visiting from the South and he was very angry because he could not get service at the bar. He felt like he was being discriminated against. My husband had mention to some of his friends that we would be going to C&P and the first thing they all said was that place is prejudice. My husband and I went with the kids when the restaurant was nearly empty and our waitress was awful. She did not check on us and she was slow not accomodating at all. Its obvious that the staff receives little or no traing on working with the public. I did visit the S. Philly location once and the service was not so bad there but the the NE philly location is on the top of my list of the worse places to go to. People save your money and buy your own fries, Old Bay and melt some american cheese. I recommend Dave and Busters better service, staff and more diverse all around. C&P management train your staff better and hore some people of color for jobs other than cook or bathroom attendant or you will be facing some class action lawsuits in the future.
- Pros: nothing I can think of
- Cons: everything
Always a good time
by jclark421
Great place to hang out with friends. I enjoy the various crab dishes they offer. Nice selection of beers to wash down your meal. High energy atmosphere is perfect for watching the big game. Only problem is the crowds on the week ends. Get there early tp avoid the wait.
- Pros: food atmosphere
VERY OVER-RATED CRAB FRIES
by fatrabbit
Its really no more than a neighborhood-type, overcrowded (we had to wait for almost 45 minutes for a table) over-rated, beer-guzzler type of sports bar! In their defense, my older brother was here visiting from Miami and he loved it. He' s a major beer drinker/sports fan/likes loud sports bars/bachelor kinda guy. He ordered some humongous tall beer thing that comes to your table with a spout on it. Rediculous. If that's you or your type of scene, you'll love it. I personally am not looking forward to going back, unless of course, when my brother comes back to visit. The crab fries were disappointing. I don't know what I was expecting, but they sure weren't it. It was no more than fries sprinkled with Old Bay Seasoning-hence the name. They taste better dipped in the cheese sauce, but then they are cheese fries right? I did like my king crab legs, but I don't know anyone who can mess those up, you just steam 'em.
- Pros: huge amounts of beer in some kinda floor to ceiling beer pitcher
- Cons: disappointed with "famous crab fries" & way too long of a wait to get seated

Just isn't worth the trip !!! Food is ok at best. Mussels are good but everything else isn't that good!
Wings are horrible if you ask me !! Crab fries always are good but the staff there is very ignorant !
Would not recommend!!
- Pros: mussels and its a bar!
- Cons: everything else!!!!!!!!!
Bustling sports bar in the Great Northeast keeps it simple, keeps it cheap and keeps it coming.

In Short
This spot has plenty of parking, lots of neon signs, TV sets tuned to the game and an ATM just inside the front door. Friendly servers attend to hungry families' needs. The menu isn't large, but what's not to like? Hardshell crabs in season star here in either house-style or spicier Baltimore style. Also try year-round favorites like Old Bay-doused crab fries and meaty buffalo wings.
