Terrible experience -- consider yourself warned!
by LBaradel
We went to Transit last night for a night of fun dancing. When we arrived, we headed straight for the ATM to get money for the cover. While there, the people behind us were complaining that the bouncers were changing the amount of the cover for different people. Already not a great sign, but whatever. We went in and were dancing as a group on the crowded dance floor, having a good time, making friends with the group of girls next to us. All of a sudden, one of the bouncers works his way through the crowd, grabs my friend and escorts him out with no explanation. We had been there less than an hour and only had one drink. I chased after them to find out what was going on, and one of the other bouncers at the side door told me he was kicked out "for pouring his drink on a girl". This was ridiculous and totally made up. My friend had already finished his drink, did not spill on anyone, and no one around us said anything or complained to us in any way. It became very apparent that my friend was singled out for being gay and the bouncers made up this lame, vague excuse. It was literally the strangest experience of my life. I'm not sure that this review will convince anyone not to go there but felt that it was really important to let people know about this so they can decide for themselves.
- Pros: Nice space
- Cons: Staff (intolderant and rude)
THE WORST PLACE IN PHILLY!
by TRANSITsux
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! If you made it past the 12th grade, this place is NOT for you. If you look like you have some money, they will charge you more; consider it a donation to the homeless. If you are not promiscuous, this place is NOT for you. It was DIRTY, UNPROFESSIONAL, and STRAIGHT UP NASTY!! NEVER EVER GO TO TRANSIT. I was there on 5/25 and will make sure everyone sees the bad reviews becuase I didn't have that advantage. THE WORST PLACE IN PHILLY!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Too expensive, trashy people, bad music

The club is what you make it, the trance night was alright. Although not too crowded, my boyfriend had his coat stolen there!!
2 dollar tuesdays
by neosoul521
Two dollar tuesdays are nice. The music selection is decent and the atomosphere is alright if you are trying to find someone to chill with. There are two rooms. The upstairs is usually a mix of dirty south meets the northeast and the downstairs has another bar with decent reggae music.
- Pros: cheap drinks on tuesday
- Cons: not enough room for breathing space
Chicagos best nite club
by Sexie
From Chicago, anyone been to Transit Nte Club out here. Great Music, Great Atmosphere. If your looking for a place that doesnot discriminat this is the place to be, this is the place to party at. on Friday nite, Salsa nite. Hotter than ever. Music always pumpin' in all 3 rooms. Saturday nite, wall to wall. This is definitely one of the hottest spots in Chicago. you can't miss it. If your in town you need to make this your first weekend party Spot.....
- Pros: The music makes it all the while
- Cons: Long line for the bathroom!!!!!!!!! :-(
Making Time = Good Time Here
by rdefinite
I've only been here during their 'Making Time' parties, so base my opinion off that. Absolutely crazy throw-downs, where there's nothing but feel-good, possibly drugged up dancing crowds of people. If you can stand being sandwhiched between fashionistas, and like to dance to all sorts of music (with plenty of floors to choose from) I highly recommend. The venue itself feels like a decaying palace. Drinks can be really pricey and it's a fight to the bar when you want one at it's peak, so either make it for the early open bar (which ends earlier then advertised normally) or have a hearty pre-game.
- Pros: Great Dance Spot, Great Atmosphere
- Cons: Pricey Drinks, Crowd Impedes Getting Pricey Drinks (Expect a Wait for Bar)
The afterhours vibe, top-tier DJs and bands make this club a draw for hip cats of any stripe.

In Short
The building is a cavernous old bank with three floors, six bars and three dance floors. Transit lets the party live on past the normal 2am closing time. The club offers a breadth of specialty nights, ranging from all-nighters with deep house to black lipstick nights where goth rules to the three-floor Making Time neosoul/Britpop/indie extravaganzas. DJs are spread out around the club spinning different styles and clubgoers of every stripe line around the block.
