No Drag Show.... Boooo
by PhillyPhile
I really enjoyed the Thursday night drag show this place had. It used to attract all kinds. But they stopped running int a few weeks ago.

by kimmiefels
go there for bingo on wednesday... it's only $3 to play all night and it's a good time. if you're looking for an inexpensive place to go... go here.
they have a pbr/jim beam special... a shot and a beer for only $3. you can't beat that.
The Best Bar on South Street!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by rskuggs
Words to not begin to describe this jewel of a bar! Where on earth can you find 20 something skateboard punks and bike messengers hanging out while a trio of 70 year olds play jazz??? This joint is tremendous. The crowd is as diverse as any spot in this town and the door guy does a great job keeping the riff raff out so that everyone has a good time. The Drag show has been running for the past month so don't believe the rumors that say otherwise.
- Pros: The staff
- Cons: Too many college guys
When day turns to night, this drinker's bar turns into a low-key boho bonanza.

The Scene
In the afternoon, this weathered spot is filled with older regulars drinking until their faces touch the bar's cracked, red vinyl padding. At night, it becomes a hub of multiculturalism with the same daytime folks rubbing shoulders with drag queens, lawyers and students. Nate Wiley and the Crowd Pleasers perform three nights a week. Thursdays feature the city's longest-running drag show, while the rest of the week is rounded out by singer-songwriters, bands and DJs.
One of a kind....

So much Pabst memorabilia under one roof. On the walls, behind the bar, everywhere. It is amazing. Drink the beer and shot special and enjoy the best obsessed museum in town. Also there is vinyl padding on the edge of the whole bar. It is luxury supreme. I like going here right after work before the lively crowd comes in.
Best value in Philly
by JPcustom10
This is the only place in town where you can go in with 10 or 20 bucks in your pocket and get some PBR/Beam specials and good entertainment and good vibe. You can spend 200 dollars in a "fabolous " place and not have as good a time as you will have in Bob and Barbara's.
Also you can go across the street to the Tritone Lounge and check out Dave and Rick D., co-owners/bartenders. Great and inexpensive food in a nice dark atmosphere, away from the beaten path.
- Pros: fun, inexpensive, old school
- Cons: can be smoky
