try harder. Yesterday I ordered a cheese-steak with raw onions.

What I received for $10.50 was a lukewarm, precooked

steak with runny American cheese and cheap onions on a decent roll and a diet soda.

Honestly, it had no taste.

Great Steak. You want the best steak in the city? well go to Steve's. Yes it is a bit messy and personally I dont think they put enough meat on the sandwich. I always go double meat american with....

Steve's. I've been eating here ever since my mother was pregnant with me 21 years ago, it's all she would eat, and I have never had a bad cheesesteak from here, ever! The best cheesesteak from any other pizza place in philly i had wasn't even half as good as the worst Steve's sandwich I have ever had. It is THAT good! The cheesewhiz is amazing! The steak isn't diced but sliced and has a flavor and texture like no other cheesesteak. And the fries... Mmmm!!! I ate their hot dogs as a child and I still remember the destinctive taste today, very good! Although, the portions got a little smaller over the years but the taste has never changed. The atmosphere isn't great either but it's a take out joint. Deffinetly worth it. Never really longer then a 10-15 minute wait, it would be worth it anyway.

seriously!!! Is this really a steak?. Just a terrible steak. I cannot believe the raves for this place. I have had alot of cheese steaks and have to say, this is the worst I have ever had. Just horrible!!

best cheesesteaks you ever had. the cheesesteaks are the best in the city. the meat is cooked to perfection as is everything else. if your in town and looking for a good cheesesteak this is the place to go.

BEST CHEESESTEAK IN THE CITY BY FAR!!!!!!!!. I've tried every cheesesteak you could imagine in Philadelphia and Steeves is the best by far. Its a long, thin, crispy roll, perfectly trimmed rib-eye steak that never has any fat or gristle, and the best cheese (wiz or melted american) I've ever had. The sandwhich is simply incredible, anyone who says otherwise on this site just does not know a Philly cheese steak. Most everyone I know agrees. It's so consistently amazing also I have never gotten a bad steak there. A must visit for anyone in Philly.

Good steaks, bad service. A pretty good steak. The meat isn't chopped, but I have grown to like the style. Definitely one of your only choices for a good steak in the Northeast, and it's also one of the only places open after 10pm.

The problem is the rude service. They also have a rule about "no provolone after 11pm". I've been a few times and the guy won't explain why you can't get provolone, he just says "American or Whiz" over and over. It took me a few times visiting to find out about the strange "no provolone after 11pm" rule, which is downright silly. If there were a place with better service around, I'd go there.

Good, But tastes more like Roast Beef with Cheese.... Good, But tastes more like Roast Beef with Cheese...It is not the place I would send a first timer to get a "Philly Cheese Steak".
