Awesome salon!. After having one hell of a hair disaster happen about a year ago at a Northeast Philly salon, my hair was a complete mess (what was left of it!).

After a year of searching for a new stylist/ salon, I found Hot Waves. From the moment I made the appointment to the second I walked in the door, I was made to feel more than welcome and comfortable by the owner and staff. The appeal for me is that it's a neighborhood salon with top notch professionals and awesome products. It's not pretentious and the prices are fair. Kathleen is the stylist I have been going to since April and she has transformed my hair. Although my hair had been damaged by another salon, she has given me honest suggestion as to what can be done now and what can be done down the road. The small changes so far have made all the difference and I have received ALOT of compliments as to where I got my "perfect highlights!" :)

If you're looking for an awesome place in South Philly, book an appointment! Even if I lived out of the city, I would make the trip.

BAD BAD BAD. My request is simple...smooth and straight. I do not like my wavey hair. It tends to frizz unless cut very clean. I explained this to the lady. I even went back after 8 weeks for her to fix the problem. I thought she could blend in the layers.She gave me the same crappy cut. I don't know why I have to give a rating. I would give a less than zero!
