view & uploadGood cuts, great value. I have been going to this salon for over 10 years now, and I can honestly say that out of the many, many times I've had my hair done there, there was only one occasion where I wasn't totally happy, but that was over 10 years ago,so that stylist is long gone by now. There's not many places where you can get a decent cut and blowout for about $40. I've probably had just about every stylist there cut my hair, and they all do a good job to the point where I usually don't even make an appointment because I'm happy with everyone's work. The only time I've made an appointment is if I plan to go on a Saturday, when it's super busy.Other than that, walk ins don't end up waiting long.As I said,I'm fine with all the stylists, but if I make an appointment,or can request,I particularlly like Teresa,Adeline, and Lil.If you are nervous about trying this place, request one of these stylists then.
best haircut. Yes! Finally, Normally go to Reiki but was referred by a friend to try Lisa. Best haircut I've had in a long time. Clean, organized, Good conversation. Did I mention she's hot! hot! hot!
Call Ahead. Just went there to get my 8 year old a cut. The girl inside told me they were closed and to come back tomorrow at 11AM. I could see if they were packed but there wasn't a chair taken. This website has them listed as open until 6:30PM. I was there around 5:30. Just a heads up to call before going.
JuJu Fan's.
JuJu does not move to Thailand ,but she move to Citrus salon on 6th St & Locus at Independence place.
She can not stand on the heat no more so she has to move on.
Absolutely The Worst Haircut I Have Ever Had. Had my haircut here on and off since it first opened. Had Linda the Asian who can't understand English. Wanted a longish faux hawk and what I ended up with was a chopped up mess that makes me look retarded. should I have stopped her when she sprayed my hair with water then tried to wipe it dry immediately with- paper towel? She was not very friendly couldn't engage in a conversation. Didn't listen to my instructions. When I asked her to trim the top a little more she hacked at it with thinning shears. I think the stylist next to her Andrew has seen this girl in operation before because he just rolled his eyes when i glanced over. How in Hell does someone get a license to cut hair if they don't have a mastery of the language? NEVER AGAIN.
The receptionist is the nastiest person in Philadelphia.. I am writing this review because every three weeks I have to endure the incredibly rude - and at times, downright mean - receptionist at the otherwise great Chop Shop on South Street. I have been continually amazed that this person is allowed to keep working there and consistently ruin what would otherwise be a pretty good experience. But tonight took the cake. She exploded into a tantrum laced with exactly six f-bombs - SIX - shouted at the top of her lungs to all present. I am no longer going to this place. You shouldn't either.
RECPTIONIST IS GHETTO. I've been going to this Salon ever since I move dto the city 2 years ago....This is an Excellent place to go to for a great, low priced haircut, but the Hispanic receptionist there is quite Ghetto. She greets you with a warm hello & 2 minutes into being there she goes back to engaging into her own loud personal chatter & cursing up a Storm..So if you can get past that you should be in pretty good hands. I have gone to several Stylist there and never got a bad haircut.
Different prices?. Well I have gone to the Chop Shop every so often for a few years now. My first time I had a hairstylist named Kathryn. I loved how well my hair always looked. Then I decided that I wanted to up the do and add in highlights. Kathryn was was off the day I went so saw I another girl. I was quoted 3 or 4 different prices the whole time I was there and ended up paying even more than what was quoted! To say the least It still ended up being about $10 cheaper than a few of the other places I've gone to since. I think if I am just going to go get my hair cut then I will stick with the Chop Shop, but anything else I will keep away.
Great highlights. I went to the chop shop and got a wonderful highlight and cut with katherine. She blew dry my hair wonderfully. To make this review short and to the point, for the price I paid I will keep her as my stylist for a while.I was looking for a good cut and color in this city without paying an arm and leg, and I found it. I think its worth the extra 5 dollars to request someone whom has cut your hair the way you like it
Despite the receptionist !. If you can get past the bad taste in your mouth once interacting w/ the receptionist, you can receive a great hair cut for a great price. This is really the case, I have curly hair and it is not easy to cut, but Ruki makes it happen (consistently) !!!! I have no problems w/ the hair cut but the receptionist constantly sings to the songs on the radio, as if she is in grade school showing off to her mother ! She is moody, rude and yells rather than talks, it might take too much effort to stand up, walk 10 steps and inform the client that it is their turn to have their hair done. If it were my shop, she would be history ! But I also guess this says a lot about the owner !!! Lastly, in the reviews I have read, several people complain about the price. Well if you are arguing over 15-35 dollars for a hair cut, you have bigger problems then with your hair ! Tip them well, they work hard ! But most of all, please tell the receptionist to submit an application / resume to another state !
