Buyer Beware. I specifically purchased fabric from Maxie's Daughter located down on 4th Street around the corner from South Street because they have been in business for over 50 years. I came to shop from Texas. I ordered 18 yards of upholstery fabric on June 20, 2011 that Eric, the owner, was going to ship to me so I wouldn't have the aggravation of lugging 18 yards home in a suitcase or the cost. He said it would be sent in 4-6 days. After countless calls, text, emails, lie after lie, I NEVER received my fabric or money. I absolutely would NEVER do business with Maxie's Daughter again. Eric is a liar and unethical. What I found out after the fact, is that Joann's Fabric, a national company, actually carries the fabric I went all the way to Philadelphia for, and they are a very ethical business. Buyer beware, never buy from Maxie's Daughter unless you have fabric in hand and even then I would just avoid that store. Eric ruined my sofa being ready for an event I was hosting. The owners seemed like such nice people with a family (ma/pa) business but don't be deceived. Agh!

Don't get your work done here. Maxie's Daughter does have very pretty fabrics, however, the owners are unprofessional and hard to work with. They take forever to finish a project and when it is done, that doesn't mean it was done right. I have had many things re-upholstered by them b/c they did have a fabric that i loved there, but I will never go back there again. For example, on two different occasions, when I finally picked up my piece, there were small rips and smudges on the fabric and they were difficult to deal with to get the piece redone. There is just no quality control there. If you find a fabric there, I would take it to someone else to have your work done.
