No frills, no pretense, no daiquiris; just an old-fashioned corner bar..
In Short
While pricey French restaurants, designer dogs and expensive homes have increasingly robbed the area of much of its old-world charm, the world inside this longtime corner tavern remains a vibrant snapshot of the way things used to be. The mostly male clientele ranges from young to old and crosses every racial boundary. There are quite a few regulars, known by name to the barkeeps; the first-time visitor will get a mild, but friendly, grilling.

Never pretentious, always friendly.
Perfect place to hide away for a beer with your sorrows, or to talk to an unusual stranger for a change of pace. It's a mix of well-watered regulars and the occasional curiosity seeker, and the conversations are never dull. You'll find yourself talking serious shop over recipes one minute, true philosophy - if you know who to ask ;) - the next, and die hard football in another breath. A truly great, no nonsense neighborhood bar.
