I'd take a pass on La Fourna
by Meat at Citysearch
The food was ok; my veal was a little fatty. What really ruined the experience was the owner, Al. He was over the top and mistreated both customers and employees. His behavior made our dining experience most uncomfortable. I would skip on La Fourno unless you enjoy a tyrant in action.
Great food and unbelievable service

I have been to La Fourno a few times now, and each time I have received the most unbelievable service. Most recently we hosted a guest from out of town, and Al who is one of the owners, personally insured that we were well taken care of, which we most certainly were by Francis our server. During my previous visit, I stopped there with friends after a day of exploring the city. Again we were personally attended to by the owner, who actually called the owner of Society Hill Playhouse and arranged for us to see the show that evening! Each time we have been there, the food was plentiful, creative and delicious! This is one of my favorites.
- Pros: On Tuesdays they have BYOB and 2 for 1 appetizers
- Cons: Wish it were closer to where I lived!
Wow what great food!

I was very surprised but I loved this place - it has amazing food, great service and the atmosphere is very authentic. I can't wait to go back - I always love to experience new cultures and this is like a blast from Italy
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: little expensive but not too bad

Good food and nice place to have dinner. I look forward to bringing the family back again. Try the fish.
A little slice of Italy on South st

We just went to La Fourno last night and will definitely be back again and again. We were with 2 other families for our traditional visit to Philly for Christmas. There were 11 of us which included 5 children from 8 to 14yrs old. The owner was wonderful with the children. The ambiance, the service and the food were phenomenal. From the veal in the veal parm being so moist, the pasta dishes to die for, the brick oven pizza done to perfection, to the amazing deserts, it was well worth the visit.
I can't wait to go back!
- Pros: priced reasonably, delicious food, great service
- Cons: parking could be an issue
