BAD CARRY OUT. Food portions were very small, and I'm a small person. Extremely small portions not worth the price. The food was ok nothing to crave.
Great Brews - Environment & food to boot!.
Wonderful place to meet friends, or family for a Great local brew (support Local) and Dinner! The menu is excellent with many selections on the veggie and non-veggie tip. The duck tacos are fantastic, the hummus trio is to die for and the chicken sandwich is one of my personal favorites. Oh did I mention the JerkK Chicken? muy bueno.
I just experienced their lunch menu for the first time and was highly impressed by the simple but tasty food. I had the grill cheese & tomato soup which was wonderful. The service was fast and friendly which makes having lunch out essential. They just starting serving breakfast so I shall have to try that sometime soon!
I have been to Bridget Foy's several times and just recently the privately owned restaurant has changed it's look to fit the style of a hip but welcoming dinning spot - check it out, you will not regret it!
Disappointing Brunch Experience.
First let me say this: I am not one of these people who likes to write negative reviews of everything. Take what I say as the unexagerated truth.
I went to Foy's with my parents and lady for brunch on Sunday. The server was not very friendly, but whatever, he's working a crappy shift. Atmosphere was nice.
I ordered the crab/corn chowder and the Eggs Benedict with Filet Mignon, medium rare.
After what seemed like an eternity, I asked if my soup would be preceding my entree this morning, and it was finally delivered. The soup was good.
When my Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict arrived, I quickly realized 3 things: 1. This was not, in fact, "Filet Mignon" but a disappointingly bland cut of meat Thin, rubbery, and overcooked, which leads me to 2., it was not cooked medium rare, but very well done. And 3., the poached eggs were undercooked, the whites were runny and clear.
The most irritating thing was that they were misrepresenting the steak as filet mignon. I said something and it was taken off the bill. Everyone else enjoyed their meals.
Excellent "we feel like something more special than a diner" dinner place. What a lovely restaurant! The food is American comfort with a nice, upscale twist. It had the feel of a really comfortable diner yet the food was more than standard fare. The beer and wine selection was also pleasantly eclectic. While I'd like to think that our server was particularly pleasant, I could easily overhear the waiters at the other tables being equally as nice. My only disappointment was the bread pudding, it was a bit gummy, but that may have been the night I ordered it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I know I'll be coming back- I have to give their marvelous desert tray another shot.
friendly staff, great value. Fun place, had dinner there this weekend with a group of friends. Shared a couple of apps, potstickers and jambalaya cakes were great. Loved the braised short ribs. Also, nice selections of beers. Didn?t get dessert but they looked homemade.
Just average, Nothing special. I ordered a burger medium rare, but it was welldone and burnt. Food is ok nothing special. I don't think it's worth the price. It's a nice place. I like the seating outside. I just dont like the food or the drinks there. Cocktails test like juice.
Terrible Service, lousy food.. Would not recommend this place for restaurant week at all. Ordered the fillet mignon and asked for it to come out medium rare. When the steak arrived it was not 8 oz like advertised and looked like a steak someone went to acme and bought the cheap fillets to give out. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant mash and I've never been to restaurant that puts gravy on top a fine meat such as fillet. When asking the waiter about a certain drink on there menu he responded with it s*cks i wouldn't order that not at all knowing my girlfriends taste in drinks. I would not go back and would not recommend this place for the restaurant week plenty of better places you can go for that money.
breath of fresh air on south street.
bridget foys offers a great crowd, great food, great atmosphere, and above all GREAT DRINKS !
the staff and owners at foys are delightful. fun, courteous, and what keeps me coming back, in addition to the menu.
The chef's turn out a great meal everytime. whether it be the best burger in the city. delicious entrees,
potstickers to die for, or a mouth watering brunch menu. the menu changes slightly with the seasons too, and the open air seating in the spring and summer months is delightful.
do yourself a favor. go to bridget foys. and if bernadette is there, ask her make you a margarita
all around, a great place to go for any occasion !
Boubon salmon to die for. Bridget Foy is a South Street institution. Great food--especially the boubon salmon, which you can only get in the summer--but worth the wait!
Great Sunday Brunch or Late Night. The food is excellent and offers seasonal menu items. The beers that are on tap are all local and match-up well with the restaurants eclectic menu. The wait staff is great, a fine group of people who will take very good care of you, extremely attentive. The bartenders Dawn, Patty, Nick, Nina, and Renee know how to mix a drink and keep you happy. The owners and managers will try to make you feel like you are at home and part of the family. I go for the atmosphere and the regulars, it is a great place to bring friends when they come to town, it is family friendly place or great for a late night meal. Sunday Brunch is the best on South Street. Hope to see you there.
